This is a very good book if you are interested in history and you like jewellery. Has many individual stories of beautiful jewels that have passed through the auction house. Good size book and nice clear pictures.

One of my best Christmas presents - great pictures and a really interesting read too! Congratulations to Vincent Meylan for a fantastic piece of work bringing literally hours of pleasure.

Another superb volume from this author bringing together from its archive some of the major jewellery sales from Christie's the worlds foremost auction house. Had it not been for a few minor inaccuraies I would have given this five stars

Being a great admirer of jewelry history, I can admire the pictures and enjoy the stories over and over again. The pictures are so lifelike, beatifully produced. It's fun to have a view of the exquisite rich and famous jewels.

Meraviglioso

Always had a love for reading about who and what happened to a great piece of jewelry, the historical value and the owners that had to have the piece. Interestingly enough jewelry is the one thing that when made well and has a great value is never going to go out of style. This book gives you a historical view on the piece of jewelry and reason why it was so sought after. If not for anything, it is an interesting read for any one who is interested in not only the piece of jewelry, but the historical value behind it. A must for anyone who loves looking and owning a great piece of jewelry or even imagining it is great.

Absolutely incredible. 359 oversized pages of pure bliss. Containing extensive photographs with historical provenance for each jewelry piece. A coffee table book you’ll actually read once and refer back to time and time again.
