Buy 101 Whiskies to Try Before You Die (Revised & Updated): Third Edition Updated by Buxton, Ian (ISBN: 9781472242471) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Great read - Written by a real expert (his biog at the back of the book) and a history and description of 101 whiskies (includes blended). In alphabetical order, this is not 101 best whiskies but 101 whiskies being suggested as worthy of being brought to your attention. I've been trying different brands since being reborn 2 years ago as a whisky drinker after 40 years of abstinence, and hardly any of the bottles I've tried have made it into this list! My experience has been variable - finding some that are favourites and some I will give a miss to. Each whisky is described by its nose and its taste - from what I can tell, Ian is avoiding the heavily peat-smokey ones (which I find too overpowering) so I may be using this each time I consider a new purchase. Anyway, you don't have to take this seriously - it's a treasure read for the aficionado and will make an ideal stocking filler if you know someone like that. I paid £4 for my copy and it's a bargain. Review: Good whisky reference book - Bought at a very reasonable £4 at a point when I'm developing an active interest in single malt whiskies. This book also covers bourbon, rye whiskies as well as those from overseas. I like the format but the decision was taken by the author not to include tasting notes; you'll either appreciate that or not. Either way an inexpensive purchase and a nice addition to other reference books. Recommended buy.

Very Cute book, But Quite Small Size to Take Note
Very cute book arrived quick enough in great conditions (bought as new). Bought this for my boyfriend's birthday who really enjoys trying out lots of different whiskeys and thought it would be a cute journey to keep tags in and few notes. It is for sure a great present booster and very thoughtful thing to give some if they enjoy trying different things out, gives lots of tips on what's similar to other things, with bit of history to it. Boyfriend is history geek and whiskey connoisseur so he enjoyed all aspects of it.

Lovely Informative book
Bought this to go with a Hebridean Whisky Tasting set as a gift for someone. The book is great, smaller than i thought it would be, which makes it small print, but i know it will be well recieved.

Great for learning trying and buying whiskey
Perfect gift ! A great book for trying buying and learning about great whiskey. I love the fact it even gives prices and where to buy. The price range of recommendations is great from aldi to bespoke.

Brilliant
Just received my copy and have to say I can thoroughly recommend it. Informative, interesting and very witty. A real joy. Can also recommend Whiskies Galore, A Tour of Scotland's Island Distilleries also by Ian Buxton. Truly captivating and it will be forming the basis of a few of our holidays in the near future.

Great book for whiskey lovers.
Bought as a Christmas present for a whiskey drinker relative and he really enjoyed it. Said he'd already tried 5 out of the 101 so still a few to go. Good mix of whiskeys in the book so not just expensive rare ones. Would recommend.

Idk what I expected but the book was smaller than I thought. However it’s very interesting and I am impressed. This will make a good gift
