SODIAL(R) Non-Contact IR Infrared Digital Temperature Gun Thermometer Laser Point GM320

I wondered about the low price and accuracy issues. Overall I have been very pleased. It has a laser pointer that you can switch on or off but note the sensor area is effectively conical so the further away you are from the surface the bigger the area sampled. Obviously if the item you want to measure is quite small and you stand too far back then you will pick up multiple items. Accuracy wise it seems very good. I have tried boiling water and room thermoters and a fish tank and the device gives an almost identical reading to what you would expect in every case. I got it for finding cold spots in the house to give me insight into where to add insulation. More than accurate enough for that purpose. Probably to around plus or minus 0.2 degrees in my opinion. I should mention that once deployed it takes a second or two to read but nothing out of the ordinary or bothersome. Overall an excellent purchase.

I got one of these little thermometers to use when I do home cooked scampi or chips - to tell me the exact oil temperature so I can get better results.Its so much easier than standing there holding a probe type thermometer, and I was worried I'd drop it in the oil. This is great now, just point and there it is on the screen immediately.The little laser pointer is quite useful, but also the reason I dropped one star from what would otherwise be a 5 star review. When using the laser pointer at any more than a couple of feet away it becomes apparent its not lined up to the sensor and points off to the top left by quite some margin, meaning if you are trying to test the temperature of anything like a light bulb for example, you don't get the correct reading. If you are trying to use this in that way you are better off using the guides on the top and lining them up - in the same way you would use a pistol, it works much better that way and you can then also see how far out the laser is.The beep can also be a bit annoying and I can't find any way to turn it off, and with the laser not being adjustable its only 4 stars for this one. Don't get me wrong - its still a very useful tool but just be aware its not quite as good as it could have been.

Really bad product, not accurate at allNot worth the money, I returned the item and ask for a refund, lucky me I did post the item back recorded delivery, if not I'm 100% the seller will not refund me,7 days after the seller received the item back he issued me refund not before contact him and demand what deserved, he, of course, try to get away with the but then I show him the postal receipt, those type of sellers should not be allowed to use amazon platform

The unit is not flimsy and is almost as good as a Fluke thermometer that I have used at work.Can't be certain of its accuracy though. I tried to test it on boiling water and it was all over the place only ready 100°C once but averaging around ~80°C.Its also 3°C different to my Nest thermometer on the wall.Bought for BBQing.May return.

Cheap and cheerful, does exactly what it says on the tin. Good enough for what we need. It did not come with batteries.
