Great sound
Semi-serious whistle players tend to collect whistles. Personally I own twelve, made of various metals and plastics. They range from $20 to $260 for context. I have long coveted a wooden whistle, but most are quite expensive and, in one case, difficult to play. But at this price I could afford to gamble. And, I won. This whistle ticks all the mandatory check boxes. Well in tune. The sound is consistent across two octaves and beyond. The increasing breath required as the notes get higher comes in even steps. The tone, not surprisingly is mellow rather than bright, but not to an extreme. Volume is medium. The craftsmanship is gorgeous. It is a beautiful instrument. I'm not sure why the listing says "Generic". I do recognize the brand (and it is not some cheap Asian knock off). The one downside is caring for a wooden instrument. Despite the description of a Tung Oil finish, the wood was dry by my standards and I quickly gave it a coat of mineral oil. The exterior is, of course, easy, but, I have had to take desperate measures to oil the interior while not scratching the wood. While this whistle does not have clogging problems, there is as much or more condensation in the interior as you get with any whistle from playing it. I have read about using swabs for shotgun cleaning or for piccolos for oiling wooden instruments. Haven't tried either, But, if you plan to play this to any extent, you'll need to deal with this aspect somehow. Though, as said, I am extremely pleased with this addition to my collection.

Beautiful and responsive.
This Russian tin whistle is made of wood. It is very pretty. It is the most responsive whistle I've played. Very good quality. You don't find this sort of thing every day. I ordered another one. If you can afford to pay this much for a tin whistle, you should get one. It will last. PW

Save your time
Honestly I found the $20 whistle sounds better than whatever garbage this is I’m extremely disappointed in my purchase

Octave jumps
Awful octave jumping no matter how softly I play. When playing the high octave it suddenly jumps down an octave halfway up. Pretty to look at but extremely disappointing. I don't know what flutes all these good reviews are about, but they certainly are not the same flute that I purchased. Michael

A winner in all regards. I am in love!!
Excellent basic but well performing wooden whistle. I highly recommend this instrument. It sounds so much better than a tin whistle!

Clogs like Crazy
It collects condensation in the brass mouthpiece at breakneck speed over and over and over again.

I play this almost every day
I am pleased with this and learning to control my breath and make a good tone - I am not a wind musician, I'm 73 and this is all new to me. This little whistle makes learning a pleasure.I am looking for one like it in low D, but the price is prohibitive thus far
