Great for Non-Silicone/Rubber Hard Drives
Overall i love the concept of this. Reminds me a lot of the old PopSockets Wallet system. However, just like those pop wallets, the adhesive on this DOES NOT STICK to any rubber/silicone casing. I have the T7 Shield as my Portable SSD, but the sticker refused to adhere to the hard drive because of the rubber casing the T7 Shield is in. Unfortunately I have not found any way to stick anything into the rubber part so I will have to get a plain pouch.I wish this would work with my SSD though

Keeps my external SSD handily connect to my MacBook Pro
I love this little mount. It makes using my external SSD when on the go a joy.Prior to the DriveSlide, I'd find myself just letting my SSD dangle like dongle if I was using my laptop -- well -- on my lap. And that always runs the risk of an accidental disconnection in the middle of editing pictures or video. Not good.Enter the DriveSlide. Yeah, it leaves me with a plastic receiver stuck to my MacBook, but having my SSD securely mounted (and connected with a separately purchased short USB-C cable) keeps it safe and handy.Adhesion is fantastic. In fact, it was a struggle when I realized I had to unstick the mounting piece from the SSD because I'd put it on wrong.About "wrong." Pay close attention to the instructions, and to how the DriveSlide works. Once the slide is attached to whatever you're attaching it to (in my case, a MacBook Pro), you slide whatever the mount is attached to into the slide, then turn it to lock it in place. The first time I attached it, I had done it in such a way that the mounted SSD would have interfered with opening the MacBook on a desk. So I had to start over (with some fresh super-sticky double-sided pads). This might not make sense now, but it will when you're setting your system up.All in all, I liked it enough that I ordered a second one so I could use my other SSDs in the same way. And that's my only complaint about the product: You have to order a whole new mount-and-slide kit if you want to use more devices. I'd like an option to purchase a few more of the mounts to go with the slide that's already attached.

Bad product
Adhesive is terrible it wouldn’t stay stuck to my laptop. I’d recommend getting any other product than this one unless you want to superglue it to your laptop or buy better tape. It seems like it would just fall off after a couple months even if it did stick. I wouldn’t trust this to hold an external hard drive. Definitely not worth the price.

A sleek and reliable way to clean up your setup
The media could not be loaded. I use this to mount my external SSD to the side of my Xbox, since I was tired of it dangling behind it and occasionally getting knocked around. It works flawlessly and is easy to install. Paired with a short USB cord, it makes for a sleek and clutter free method of protecting external drives from cord strain and mishaps. (Especially important for hard drives with moving parts)The adhesive is strong, so I advise making absolutely sure you have it where you want it and lined up straight before sticking it to the surface. It’s a pricier way of doing this than just using adhesive yourself but with how reliable and low profile it is, I say it’s still less than a replacement drive.

Very useful
I like to use my external drive for backing up my files, frequently, and sometimes keep certain files only on that drive. It's always annoying to have something dangling from your laptop that doesn't move around with it, or that is taking up space on your desk next to it. This adapter sticks solidly to the laptop lid and drive and locks in place easily to hold the drive nearby but out of the way. I do recommended lining up the location on the laptop lid before sticking it on, make sure the cable reaches the port you want it to and you can align it so the cable isn't hanging in an annoying way. Once the adapter is on, it's solidly stuck there, so you can't redo it.

Great for On-The-Go however..
The media could not be loaded. It's functional. It's happened to the best of us: On the go set, you forget your externals are plugged in, walk away, there they are tangling. I want to protect my investment, a must-have in your camera bag. Similar to the quick-release connector used on hoses. My favorite part is that it locks in when you slide into the receiver and rotate it 45 degrees. My only dislike is that not all surfaces are equal, and the adhesive backing may or may not be strong enough to hold. For example, I have a 13" MBP with a Plastic Hard Shell Case Cover. Initially, the 3m adhesive tape did not hold. After a second cleaning of the placement area, it held in place. So far, so good. The sleeve that slides into the holder's adhesive backing does not hold depending on the surfaces to which it is applied. For example, the rubber surface of a SanDisk portable SSD has a smooth, slick, rubbery texture, and the 3m tape will not hold onto that type of surface.I have the remedy; the well-trusted Velcro strips solved the issues.
