How do I know if the sensor is wired correctly? Is there a light built into the sensor head to show that the carriage lights I connected should be on?

Practical functions, easy install!

Worked perfectly, the wires are properly color coded and the PIR itself shows a red light in the lens when motion is detected ... interesting! Also, the controls are perfect including a "test mode" so you can verify install in full sun.

Nice

The instructions are too small and not very good. After I figured it out I tested on the bench and work good. However I haven't put it back up yet.

1 out of 3 sensors are giving me trouble

I found these easy to install, and had 3 motion lights with weathered and worn out sensors. TIP: If you aren't familiar with electricals, connect your Black-Black and White-White as per the instructions. These sensors have a Yellow wire, and your existing wire might be Red (connect Yellow-Red in that case). The replacement sensor for a single lamp with 2 par38 bulbs was easy. My other 2 lights are wired in series and covering the wider driveway area on a 2 car garage. The first was successful, but the 2nd lamp (end of the 2 lamp fixture series) is giving me trouble. The sensor flashes red with motion, but the LED bulbs don't come on like they do for the other lamp in the series. I'll keep at it as weather permits, but these DO work with my Honeywell lights and are worth the money so far.

Replaced the one that stopped working on my light fixture with this one. Working great.

Get this to convert your floodlight to dusk and motion

Easy install, though it probably depends on your existing fixture and ease of access. Good adjustments, though if you're installing outside, you're probably going for max anyway.

Saved my motion light from completely going in the garbage

I got a motion light off of Amazon - and discovered that the motion sensor didn't work work well. The range was off - and even at the highest sensitivity level, you had to be 1/2 way up the drive before it came on - and sometimes the light would go off too quickly. I was afraid I was going to have to throw it out. I liked the light itself - but the motion sensor was bad.On a whim, I decided to see if I could find a sensor to replace the one I had. This one was well reviewed - so I thought I would try. Interestingly, when I got this one, the shape was virtually identical to the one I was taking off. The only real difference was the connector into the light - and that the one on the light itself had on branding. I was concerned that this might be just like the one I was taking off.As I mentioned, the connector was different (the one on the existing light was snap in - and this one had a plastic nut that screwed into the light). The hole was really the same though - and there wasn't quite enough space for the nut inside the light - but I made it work. After it was running, I saw it definitely wasn't like the one I was replacing. The sensor was adjustable and I got it to work just the way I want. (The light comes on when I'm at the bottom of the drive - but doesn't come on for cars that pass in the middle of the road.) If I wanted to nit-pick, the daylight sensor seems a bit weak - and even if it is a dark gray day, the light will come on (even though it is light enough that it isn't needed). But on somewhat brighter days it works as expected. That's not enough of a problem for me to take off a star. For the price this was a great solution - and it kept a bit of electronic garbage out of the landfill for some more time. I recommend this one.

Controls LED Lights With Integrated Detector

I have a longde LD007-PSL08 LED security light pair that stopped turning on. I bought a treewell PIR Motion Detector TMD180 to fix it.The motion detector on the lonngde has four small wires (white, black, red, and yellow) and a small connector that mate it to a white box. The motion detector is integrated with the potted power supply in the white box. The treewell detector could not be used as a direct replacement. I took a bunch of measurements and tried to figure out a way to make it work. Finally, I thought to unplug the old detector from the white box and apply power to the lights. They came on! I thought I was going to have to short wires or do something clever to make it work. The only job of the old sensor is to turn the lights off. I put the small cable to the detector in the power supply white box to avoid future confusion. Then I was able to connect the new treewell detector as though the lamps were incandescent. That is black from the house to black on the new treewell, white from the house to white on the old longde and white on the new treewell, and yellow from the new treewell to black on the old longde. This is the same as the diagram that comes with the treewell. The treewell controls the power to the potted power supply on the longde lights. Before this, the power supply was always on, and the old detector simply signaled to turn the lights off. I don't know if the longde was designed to turn the lights on when the detector is disconnected. It's possible that mine just failed this way. The rest of the setup was as described on the instruction sheet. If you have LED lights that have an integrated detector, try disconnecting it. If the lights come on when power is applied, you may be able to use this detector to control the light

triggers on randomly

The nature of the installation is of course time consuming, which means I missed the return window. One unit ('A') is on all of the time. The other unit ('B') seems to react at maximum distance of 30. Even though I set it to the max distance of 50ft.Over the night, unit 'B' would trigger several times during the night. I had a camera pointed to the coverage area and there was no other person or animal detected. Seems like it would trigger randomly or by the wind movement of the small tree below it. Trigger should be from the heat given off by a warm-blooded mammal.Timer ON time was set at 10 minutes but would stay on for 30 minutes. As stated, unit 'A' would just stay on all of the time.Units would operate correctly during daylight, ie they would be off during the daytime.
