- About this item FILTRATION: MatrixCarbon by Seachem is a truly unique, bituminous coal-based, activated carbon, formed as a spherical carbon bead for optimum hydrodynamics and will not pack. DENSITY: MatrixCarbon permits maximum water flow and contact with its high density of macroporous binding sites. IMPACT: MatrixCarbon has a very low ash content as indicated by its minimal impact on pH. Even when added to distilled water, it does not raise pH above 7.0. CARBON: MatrixCarbon is not only a chemical filter, but a mechanical filter as well due to its ability to mechanically filter out objects of molecular size, functioning through macropores and micropores. USE: 150 mL of MatrixCarbon will easily treat 400 L (100 US gallons) for several months. Use MatrixCarbon in a filter bag and rinse before use. For best results, MatrixCarbon should be placed so as to maximize the flow of water through it. This product may also be used in a canister filter, chemical filtration module, box filter, or any high flow area of a trickle filter.

I mixed it up with the soil
Aqueon plant and shrimp substrate + this equals happy triving plants for me and its fun to mix up.

Quite and Effective
Have this in a 29 gallon long freshwater setup. The multiple choices of media is amazing, and you can remove the media basket without taking your whole unit apart. Super time savings. The filter is AWESOME.

De lo mejor del mercado
Aunque en el título dije que es de lo mejor del mercado es complicado saberlo. Según la web del fabricante este carbón activo procede de una fuente de lo mejor, y casi no está contaminado... así que según ellos es buenisimo.Son unas bolitas negras que van dentro de una bolsa blanca, que pones en el filtro y te olvidas.Filtrar... filtra bien. No se puede decir mucho más.Una cosa. En principio por lo que puede leer, el fabricante tiene el filtro en "cajitas" y en "bote". Cuando va en bote no tiene la bolsa. Además la bolsa es siempre del mismo tamaño. Así que si no hay para tu filtro en concreto siempre puedes comprar la que es un poco más grande y quitar algo de contenido. (Eso si... cuanto más grande más caro)
