It would have been helpful for them to come sharpened, but the curved blade worked great after sharpening.

I am glad I chose the 8 inch version and not 5 inch. Eight inches refer to the center to center of the handles not the blades. I will use these for poles and canes so the size will work.The blades come as sharp as butter knives. A half hour of work, on each, with file, 800 grit sandpaper on a 1x board, finishing with 2,000 grit and stropping got them to paper cutting edge.I got these for de-barking and rough forming, so the size will work.The not straight blade is more bent than curved, with about a third at each end straight.Handles okay after tightening.Will add more after some use.Hey, it's two for $40.

When I purchase this I expected it to be a draw knife that I could use. Instead I got a purely decorative draw knife that has ZERO edge on it. Don’t waste your money.

The knives are decent, handles are solid, but the edges were painted over and chipped. They should be salvageable with some work but are NOT ready to use out of the box.

I bought these knives for my husband after he retired. He uses them all the time. They have made stripping the bark off of wooden poles so much easier.
