French Long Stories: 5 French Long Stories for Intermediates to Enhance Your Language Skills (French Stories for Beginners and Intermediates)

The last time I studied French was over forty years ago in high school. But with Dylane’s wonderful set of books, I’m now ready to move on to real French novels as my next challenge.

I used to take French a few years ago and I am trying to re-learn it. I wanted to read some shorter stories in French, and this book is the perfect way to do so. It has vocabulary translation for more difficult/new terms and even has questions checking-in about reading comprehension to complete after each chapter. Highly recommend for beginner-intermediate learners.

As with many French learners, my reading and writing skills are far, far ahead of my conversational abilities. This book is great to use with a teacher who will pose dozens and dozens of questions on the texts. Good for intermediate-level conversation. Check out the author's YouTube lessons, too -- very helpful.

I feel like my French is getting better and better! This concept of her stories, adding a glossary per paragraph and then the story in English to see if what you read in French is clear- so helpful! Dylane’s YouTube channel is amazing!

This a marvelous book for a low intermediate (my term) learner. The stories are fun. More important, the learning materials, to my eye, are excellent. New words are in bold with definitions at the end of each chapter. Also, there are exercises to test your comprehension and develop your writing skills. Fun stuff.

Decent story line provided to keep your interest while introducing new vocabulary

As soon as I received the book (hard copy) from Amazon, I had to right away read (while listening to it via the free downloadable audio) at least the first part of story #1. I laughed as I was visualizing the story. BUT what pushed it over the top for me was the dialogue!!! It made the characters come alive. I love it! Looking forward to discovering the rest of the book. Bravo Dylane for another gem!

I loved the two books of short stories, and this book of French Long Stories is just as amazing. Dylane is an excellent teacher and her books are so helpful in my learning experience. I'm almost done with her free 55 pronunciation lessons from her website and I find that helpful when reading the stories. The free audio is an added bonus. I highly recommend this book.

The stories are easy to read and the comprehension and written answers deepen comprehension.

A wonderful book for intermediate French learners. The level is appropriate and I liked the way each story is broken up into short sections followed by definitions of key words. Each section has its own easy to follow audio transcript to practice listening skills together with a full audio transcript of the entire chapter. I found the latter very helpful for practicing sustained concentration whilst listening in French. Dylane is a real find and I have gone on to purchase her book on pronunciation skills.

In general it is a very good book. I am really glad that I bought it. The stories are written in easy to understand language. It’s a great way to build your vocabulary and learn grammar. I recommend this book.Ps: I intend to buy more books from this author.

A great way to learn recognising that even maternal speakers can’t know every word - if you get the meaning of each paragraph - move on. When you read it the next day you may surprise yourself that you understand more without really trying!!
