Has anyone tried this tool on .50 rounds?

If you're talking about 50bmg they won't fit for sure. The biggest round I've done if 45/70. I've found the heavier the bullet the easier it comes out. .233 takes much more effort than 308.

Purchased this may 9, 2018. used very little. today it shattered in use. may have been a defect in manufacture. is there any warranty?

Don't know for sure but I would return it to Amazon they are great for allowing returns.

Is the hammer tip really STRONT as advertised?

The puller is decent but not super strong. I’d recommend using a 2 x 4 as a striking surface and not any steel table or concrete or you’ll damage the hammer relatively quickly. And try to use the lightest amount of striking power as possible to pull the projectile.

Does this work for .30-06 and .38 special?

Yes, works great! I've used it on .380, .38, 9mm, 45LC, 5.56, and 30-06.

Don't waste your money...

Having owned a Quinetics bullet puller since I started reloading in the mid 80's, the collet finally gave up the ghost. I found somewhere selling a Quinetics collet for £10, but then saw this complete bullet puller for £13, so thought it made sense. The plastic cap shattered after 15 rnds of .223... but the collets do fit in the Quinetics puller, so not a complete loss.

the threads on it were very tight so after 10 its painful lasted about 500 hits before it broke so not so durable
