Just simply a new handle
A well made replacement handle, in my case for a lawn edging tool, but would be just fine for a fork or spade as well. Easy to fit in a fork or spade, but I needed to trim about 10mm off to get a snag fit in the lawn edging tool, that I was very happy to do as I’ve been looking for a handle for a few years now. It looks great and works get as well. I’m looking forward to many years of use from it now. All I would do is each year is give it a good clean and a light coat of linseed oil before winter storage to keep both handle and tool in good condition for years to come.

Cheap finishing touch.
Disappointed that the handle was fixed with a staple rather than a dowel. Otherwise happy with purchase.

Solid and sturdy
Solid construction and good finish for the price.

Very good product. Fitted to a spade and made it whole again. I really dig this product.

Poor build. With a lot of effort can be made OK.
Well I chose to ignore the other poor reviews thinking "They probably just got a duff one". I bought two. Both came apart. The first as I was hot riveting the handle to the fork. Having gone to the trouble of making 7mm rivets and riveting the ends over with all the usual consequence (like I set fire to a plastic hose while rushing to get the red hot rivet in the hole I drilled) I decided returning them was more trouble than it was worth. So I took the handles that had fallen off (they are drilled to a 26mm shallow hole and held on with some crappy wood glue and a very small metal pin) and drilled them deeper then roughed the surfaces up and stuck it on good and proper with PU glue. Then I cross drilled it and shoved a 3mm nail through the lot. Ground it off. Clean the whole lot up and slapped on some linseed oil. Both are fine and work well. But more effort than it should have been... comedy episodes with blow torches and plastic pipe aside.3 stars as the wood isnt bad quality. The build quality for the cross handle gets a 1.Oh... and note that the taper goes to quite a fine point so they sat further into the fork than the original

Added new life to my old, broken garden forks
I have now bought 3 of these replacement handles and 3 of my old garden forks with broken handles live again! The first that I bought I was a little wary of, because of critical reviews regarding the way the handle is attached to the shaft. Yes, it does appear to be secured with a staple, but it nonetheless appears to be firmly attached. However - should the handle ever become detached, I shall simply drill a hole through the top of the handle into the shaft, and secure it with a screw. The wood itself seems to be of very good quality.

Good quality ash handle
Good quality ash handle with nice straight grain and smooth surface. Taper required some fettling to fit the fork shaft (I didn't make a great job of that, but that’s down to me). Handle is supplied unfinished, so I applied a coat of varnish and a coat of wax. Feels robust and should last years.
