This is a variable speed side blower. No thermal sensor. Nice concentrated flow.
I use this fan to blow room air over inline LED lamp assemblies in my seed starting room. This unit blows a concentrated stream of room air above the lamps and forces the hot air out of a confined space, without blowing over my sensitive plants. Yes, the moving air makes noise. The variable speed control allows me to adjust the flow to control the noise. This is the best solution I've found, and it works great. Now that I've tested it, I'll add a fan to each shelf.Probably would be too loud for a high end audio cabinet.

Decent build quality and the included barrel jack makes things easy, CFM Values are patently false
I independently measured the CFM of the fan and came up with the following results at ~sea level air density, and calculating the discharge dimensions at 43mmx36mm (0.00154m^2, 0.01666ft^2).@the lowest setting of ~5V I measured 6m/s of flow which works out to 6 CFM (38.2 CFM advertised)@the medium setting of ~8.5V I measured 8m/s of flow which works out to 26.24 CFM (46.3 CFM advertised)@the max setting of ~12V I measured 11.25m/s of flow which works out to 37 CFM (55.4 CFM advertised)It moves plenty of airflow for my uses but the rated CFM is seemingly wayyyyy off.

My odd use case
I bought this to create air flow circulation for cold smoking cheese. It works perfectly for this purpose.

Exactly what I needed instead of replacing the entire seat cooler outright!
I rarely leave five star reviews because I don't read one or five star reviews myself.Every single seat cooler fan would die on me after only a few weeks and they're like $30-$50 each! So when I finally saw these I bought two just in case however it's been a few months and the first one is still working! I'm glad I didn't have to buy another entire seat cooler and the fact that the AC-DC adapter isn't completely fixed (you can unplug the fan (three inches or so of wire) from the AC-DC adapter's wire) means if one side breaks you can simply replace that side instead of the entire setup! It also means that the plug comes out when I'm constantly pulling my computer chair in or out which is better than a fixed static wire that would wear down and eventually fail.Having a control is also nice too because I don't always need the fan at 100% speed. A friend suggested getting a 240 volt fan however I don't need to go deaf. I actually don't think I could be happier!UPDATE - This order was made on June 8, 2021 (I'm updating this review December 25th, 2021) and the fan part itself started failing to work unless I pressed the power cord in to the short fan DC wire with some extra force. Considering that I'm pulling in and out my seat numerous times a day I think six months is respectable. The AC/DC adapter/cord from the first one is still working just fine. I purchased two so I have a spare with another on the way shortly. I won't need these forever though while I do they're an equal value to the best seat cooler I've had (twice the price that lasted a full year) though slightly better that I only have to replace the fan.

Great Customer Service
I installed this fan motor, in my RV fifth wheel behind the refrigerator in order to circulate cool air on the coils in order to improve cooling efficiency. I had a slight issue, and customer service resolved the problem immediately. Do not hesitate to buy this product from this company. They stand behind their product.

Works well, not quiet
This works really well. The speed control is really helpful and it blows more than I expected. Only gripe is its noticeably loud. Would not want it near your bed, or in your room at all, if you're a light sleeper.
