Can fit 1st Gen Tundra too!
I bought this with the goal to modify to fit the 1st gen Tundra (2000-2006). The bracket works perfectly where the cable attaches and the ball threads into the tailgate just fine as well. Turned out that if you remove the boot on the strut, it cleared the tailgate nicely and works just fine on my 2004 double cab. Nice little addition!

This is probably one of the products you don’t need but like to have. It was easy to install and works flawlessly! Very wife friendly costs as well!

Works well but don’t use 2 of them!!!
If you used two of these on your truck, it causes your tailgate to pop out of socket. I ended up having to send one back due to this. One is plenty to get it to go down slowly. Fit was easy and I love that it slows down the tailgate instead of slamming down.

Finally found tailgate shocks that work
So far so good, instead 2 sets 1 on each side of my 2015 Tundra tailgate. I closed the tailgate then reopen it and the tailgate smoothly went down with no problem.
