USE A GOOD THICK GLUE TO MAKE THIS VERY SOLID!
For the price...very happy with this.It is your basic idea quality screw together wood furniture. With that being said I think it was worth what I paid for it....packaged well, looks good, it went together well, it came with extra screws, in the end the parts lined up and it was as sturdy as expected (more on that in a second). For an office with many many opens and closes a day it would not be good...but for home use it will last a long time.Now...when I put ikea kind of furniture together I always start on a level surface like the dining room hardwood floor (not living room carpet). Put it together like the instructions say...but I always use glue on every single panel that attaches to another and ALWAYS GLUE THE TRACKS!!!. Use thick slow drying glue....put it together quickly, and when assembled and completed leave the assembled furniture on the flat surface and use something to give it a gentle lean/push or twist till you see everything line up perfectly...then let it sit there till your glue drys...With that process and tightening your screws perfectly (the small screws in particle board strip easier than most think)...you will have a nice piece of "OK" furniture.I am happy with this and glad I bought it. remember, build on level ground, DO NOT over tighten screws, use some good thick slow drying glue, gentle push to hold perfect straight till all glue drys....and you have a very solid file cabinet for your home.(And with the little screws you will have extra of..put them in the tracks in the middle...extra support helps)

Solid product, long assembly time
Solid materials and clear assembly instructions, but the product description needs to inform potential customers about the amount of time needed to assemble this unit - an hour and a half minimum while working steadily, which is more than I ever would have expected.

DO NOT BELIEVE THE 5 STAR reviews
I will quote every other review"34 customers mention "Screw quality" 5 positive 29 negative22 customers mention "Lock functionality" 3 positive 19 negativeCustomers are unhappy with the cabinet locks. They say the locks don't work properly, the bezels around the locks don't stay where they're supposed to, and the locks come broken or damaged. Some lock holes don't align properly, making installation difficult. Overall, customers find the locks subpar and not great for security. "...I got it all together and realized the locks didn't work. Had to loosen a lot of screws - get it locked and re-tightened...." "...the bezels around the locks don't stay where they're supposed to and keep falling out...." "...The screws for the locks aren't long enough and it won't lock." "It looks nice, but I would NOT trust the locks, nor the sturdiness when filled with documents. It's made of MDF board, not steel or metal...." 34 customers mention "Screw quality" 5 positive 29 negative Customers have issues with the screw quality of the cabinet. The screws for the locks are too small and not long enough. They find it difficult to get the screws in, even with a drill. Some customers report missing screws or that the screws don't align with the holes on the drawers. Additionally, some screws come out after a couple weeks. "...The pilot holes were not deep enough for the 1- and 7/8ths inch screws to put on the back panel...." "...suitable for particleboard assembly - e.g., the screws for attaching the drawer locks are short and thin and readily strip out their pre-drilled..." "...However, one of the drawer handles was bent and therefore the screws do not align with the holes on the drawer...." "...Instructions could have been better. The screws for the locks were too small to get all 4 in. I was only able to get three of each screw in...." Took a chance despite red-flag reviews and alas, I'm adding a red-flag review of my own. This 3-drawer file cabinet had the right dimensions to fit in a very specific place (it's a little shallower and not quite as wide as other units). We also liked the white, clean look. Although the price was attractive, that was not a primary consideration. The package with all the unassembled parts was a daunting sight -- no surprise -- but my husband, a pro at putting things together, got to work and during the 3 hours of labor (unpacking, inventorying, arranging, assembling) got it done. These were his two deal-breakers with this unit: 1) Some of the screws are too small to be suitable for particleboard assembly - e.g., the screws for attaching the drawer locks are short and thin and readily strip out their pre-drilled holes (they're intended for solid wood, not particleboard, but you can't substitute thicker screws due to the hole sizes in the locks' attachment plates) - leave these screws loose... the locks may wobble a bit but they shouldn't fall out; 2) If you tighten the metal rods into their receptacles (inside the drawer fronts) they'll put pressure on the white veneer and flake it off the front of the drawer -- leave these rods loose. (He applied transparent tape over the two white flakes (size of corn flakes) to keep them in place and moved that drawer to the bottom, where it's less visible.) Not until the end did we find issues like #1 and #2 above (final steps of assembly). When we explained and asked the seller for a replacement door front panel, this was their counter-offer: We can disassemble the unit, ship it back and they'll send us a new file cabinet to assemble. Perhaps they realize (hope?) that the extra 4+/- hours of work and inconvenience is an effective deterrent to their having to make this right in a fair and acceptable way. Our biggest lesson learned? We should have heeded this product's / seller's red-flag reviews."DO NOT BUY.

No Problems
I like how this cabinet turned out. Assembly would have been faster if I had used a power drill. The cabinet comes with a flat head screw driver, but the screws are Phillips head. Came with two allen wrenches for the built, worked fine. I did not have any problems with pieces being damaged. All of the holes lined up. I messed up the bottom of the cabinet and flipped the piece the wrong way so I had to take out a few screws and re-screw it. User fault: when I was screwing in some of the screws, I did not have them straight right away and some of the *what I’m assuming is veneer* chipped around the holes. It’s all on the inside/ not visible portions of the cabinet so I can live with it.I primarily bought this cabinet because I liked the height, and I plan on putting a 3D printer on it. It was also on sale so that made the decision easier. Kind of wish it had been “on sale” in all white, but I’ll take it.
