Best nights sleep and no more back pain
Just bought our 2nd round of this mattress topper! The first one ripped a little after 3 years of usage! We love love love it!! We stay cool, got rid of back pain and it’s sooo comfy. If you read that it has a weird smell that’s called off gassing and you just need to leave it in an open room while it fluffs up. The odor goes away.

Feel like a brand new person!
The topper looks just like the picture shown. Our bed is years old. The mattress is still in decent condition. It's one the flips over and has a pillow top on both sides. We've always been good about flipping and rotating it. But, time wears on. I have neuropathy and I was noticing that my hands and arms were falling asleep or tingling every morning. I have had to wear braces. Plus my lower back would take a while of creaking to warm up and not be sore. I have one hip that had started to hurt. I'm not getting into the husband's side. We are both healthy and keep in pretty good shape so I just knew some of this was the mattress. Was I ready to spend another $1K or more on a mattress....ummmm....nope! I had slept on a friend's bed who had gotten a memory foam mattress and liked it. Then I started researching the toppers. I have been looking into a topper for months. Figured I would give it a shot. Hopefully sleep better and save a little money. Thank you Prime Day! haha After reading about everything I could and then reading reviews, comparing prices etc, I decided on this. Hallelujah!! I picked this one because it had good reviews on temperature. I run hot so I needed something that wouldn't make me sweat. I liked the bamboo and charcoal features. This came perfectly packaged. Easy to open (provided a razor tool for the plastic) and lay out. There was absolutely NO SMELL. I was worried. I put my face right into it. Nothing. I have a small house so there was no way I was able to stick a king sized topper somewhere for 48 hours, so this only sat for about 14 hours. It did start to expand immediately after being laid out. I already had a pillow mattress cover w/ deep pockets and it fits right over it. I have slept on this for 2 nights so I might be pulling the trigger early on a review, but I will definitely update this if necessary. Night one: I could definitely tell a difference. It was very comfortable. I was worried about too soft or too firm, but like goldilocks, it was just right. It is soft enough that you sink into it, but firm enough that you are not in a hole (if that makes sense). I was not hot at all. Summer is definitely a time to test that out. Night two: I think I liked it even better last night. Just a huge difference. Even lying on it to read. I was comfortable with no aches. Huge difference in the morning. I haven't worn my arm braces and my arms and hands have not had any pins and needles or numbness. My hip has not bothered me and my lower back doesn't feel like I have to oil it up before exercising or just breathing. At this point, I would definitely recommend this topper. I know there are so many out there. My suggestion is don't rush it. Read reviews on and off of Amazon. Going through though, add this one to your list of a possibility. I will add too that I was thinking I would need a 4 inch, but I did read somewhere that someone stated that it feels like you sink further down with a 4inch so I got the 3 and it's perfect for my needs. Sorry so long, but I invested a lot of time into this. haha

Saved me from having to replace a mattress--twice
When my mom died in the summer of 2022, I traveled across the country to stay at her house and start settling her affairs. The first night I slept in her bed, I was miserable. The bed was absolutely horrible--it was hard, had uneven wear, and caused me significant pressure-point pain that woke me up throughout the night. I knew I was going to be returning to the house several times to work on it, and therefore sleeping in that bed for a total of about eight weeks. There was no way I'd be able to tolerate the discomfort. I thought about buying an inexpensive mattress, but then after much research, I found this topper. A friend unpacked it and set it on top of the bed about a week before I arrived for my next stay, so I didn't experience any of the odor or "rest time" needed for it to expand up to full size--it was ready when I arrived. So...After arriving on a late flight my next trip, I put an extra-puffy cotton mattress pad over this, made up the bed, and turned in for the night. It was absolutely heavenly! I couldn't believe I was in the same bed. This topper (and to some extent the puffy mattress pad cover used with it) converted Mom's miserable bed into a thing of delightful, pillowy comfort. The difference in comfort and functionality was stunning. Ultimately, I slept in that bed with this topper a total of 92 nights, and I was blissfully comfortable for every one of them. This topper completely transformed a bed that was otherwise unusable. It was worth every cent--which was far less than I would have paid for a whole new mattress. Flash forward 18 months: My own bed is causing my arthritis some trouble, but I can't afford to replace it as it's only six years old and was quite expensive. I decided to go for what I know and do what worked last year. I still love this topper. It's deliciously comfortable, not hot, and well worth the money. It only needs to last four years, and it's so substantial, I have no worries about it making that long.

Comfy!
I originally bought this topper for my elderly mother who has knee problems and restless leg issues. I thought it would help her. She liked it but being older she had an issue with being able to "get out" of it in the morning to get out of bed, if she wanted to be able to sit on the bed for a minute before getting out of bed, she also complained she felt like she was "sliding" off the bed. Eventually for safety reasons (I didn't want her sliding out onto the floor lol) I removed it and decided to put on my bed. I have used memory foam items in the past, I must say this is one of the most supportive and best made quality ones I have ever owned, and its a true fit for your bed....meaning it will fit end to end, side to side and not leave 1-3" gaps like most toppers do. I also found I have a somewhat difficult time getting out of the bed (partly because it is so comfy but partly because you do sink in overnight and feel like a stranded turtle on its back when it time to get out of bed in the morning). While it is the most supportive foam topper I have ever used...it is still after all...foam. You will still have your hips/midsection sink. I have pretty bad back problems (I have been told by a doctor I need rods put in my back...but thats one of those "over my dead body" surgeries lol I am not gonna do). This does help some with the back problems, I had bought a firm mattress thinking it would help my back but often woke up with back pain, when I use this the back pain isn't nearly as bad and often times, I have no pain when I wake up in the morning. Overall its a very good quality, very comfy, supportive as much as a memory foam topper can be, would buy again.

Oh! Lucid where have you been all my LIfe???
Ok, so I purchased this Lucid 3 inch topper in Cal King! Right out of the box there is a slight smell but it's a "new foam" smell nothing out of control. The item was wrapped perfectly with a mesh fabric protector (dispossable) and a nifty letter type opener so you don't have to worry about damaging your item. It was easy peasy! Just open it up, lay on floor, unroll and almost instantly my topper got to it's 3 inches. I popped my ceiling fan on to speed process although I will odbide by the recommended 48 hrs to sleep on. I hope I can make it that long cause I did lay on it briefly on the floor and was in Heaven. I literally closed my eyes for a moment and thought I was on a puffy encompassing white cloud. I swear I could hear angelic voices and see Pegasus flying around me! l'm super hopeful this will help my lower back and hip pain. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and anyone who knows about that, You know about the wide spread pains we get. Those evil little fibro elves that man each joint and take turns stabbing you with little miniature knives. Ugh! I HATE them! Lol I really appreciate the construction of this topper. The fact that it's infused with charcoal is an added antimicrobial and moisture barrier benefit. It seems awesome but only time will tell. I'm in my 30s and about 118lbs but sleep heavy. My hubby is about 175 ish and tosses every 10 min. He has horrible neck pain and lower back pain. (Too many years of playing Hockey) So, we are both looking forward to some much needed sleep therapy. There is a 3 year warranty on it so that makes me happy. I will update after a full weeks sleep. Only CON I can see this far is I wish there was a bamboo zippered cover for it. May need to purchase deep pocket sheets. This is a COMPLETELY unbiased review, purchased by me. Who genuinely is super excited about using this item. Check back for update! May 24 UPDATE: Man oh man! Did this item truly exceed my expectations. This topper has been heaven sent. It has completely overhauled my joints in a way that they actually feel less tender and sore. That lower back pain has decided to pack up an move. My fibromyalgia episodes seem less due to being more well rested. With joint pain and wide spread pain lessened I have been able to slowly start doing yoga again. I just needed my body to repair a bit first and this topper definitely helped. My kids call it the marshmallow bed and fight over who gets to nap in it lol. It does help wick away moisture. Especially when paired with bamboo sheets. I will replace after warranty is up in 3 yrs to make sure I'm receiving the best from this product. I can't rave enough. I will update again in 6m. Please don't hesitate you found the one. I will say if you are over 300lb try going up to a 4-5 inch topper for added support. Blessing for better sleep to all...

Not angry at life. Just an honest review.
You know those reviewers that are just angry at life? They blame everything and everyone but themselves. Well this isn't one of those reviews just an honest experience I want to share. Sleep quality, pain relief and comfort is non-existent. At first it seems like a good time, but when you wake up you will feel pain from being sandwiched from sinking in. I purchased the four inch topper. I have been sleeping on this mattress for a solid week on top of my mattress and it's just too soft. As an advocate of all things soft, fluffy and cuddly, purchasing this four inch topper wasn't the play. I remembered when I used to live in an apartment and the only furniture I had was a mattress topper just like this, but that was maybe 1 or 1.5 inches thick, on the floor. I think it worked because the topper wasn't so thick but provided enough support for the spine, while the carpeted floor makes sure that your back and spine doesn't suffer from the sinking support. When you place the four inch topper on top of your bed, if you use a box spring in addition to your mattress, you're going to have a difficult it's going to be a TALL bed. But that's not the problem. The four inch topper, on top of a plush mattress, actually hurts my back. I thought I could benefit from the extra support but actually it's painful just thinking about sleeping. Imagine being folded up like a taco, vertically. That's what happens when you sleep on the four inch topper. Because all weight is in the center of your body, your sides such as arms and sides of the body float higher than the center (think vertical centers, such as belly button, nose, etc.) I would consider myself althletic, and I thought I could benefit from the extra support. I'm not light. But there is such as thing as too plush and it's really bad for anyone's back. I don't really know who this product is intended for unless the person really needs extra support. I think Lucid could do a better job by adding weight recommendations based on the mattress topper thickness. I honestly feel that the four inch *might* benefit those who are on the extreme heavy side, but then again I really can't even say if that would be true, because I am sure they too would experience the sinking vertical folding issue that is pressured on your muscles and bones. Before buying this product I did read other reviews and even reviews of similar products from different companies. In one review they said it was difficult to get out of this bed. And as an althletic person, I can see that people who are older, have some kind of muscle or bone issues, or just weak from their conditions would definitely have difficulty getting out of their bed. If you read this review and still want to buy it, don't buy the four inch,. Stick with a 1 inch topper or 1.5 max. Trust me on this. In terms of comfort, pain relief and sleep quality, I rate them all at a 1. Sleeping on this bed made me experience new different types of pain and discomfort. The packaging was okay. The box was kinda damaged but nothing major. I didn't really care about because the product itself was still intact inside. But I don't see how they would prevent bugs from entering the plastic. There was no bugs in mine but it could have at least been sealed better. I'm not mad at Lucid, or at the product, but I don't think the product (four inch topper) is suitable for anyone. I wish I could return it but I can't anymore. It's a shame because I only have used it for about a week.

A FOUR INCH ClOUD...DREAMY!
We LOVE it. It doesn't look like anything fancy. We have only had it a couple weeks, but it is sooo comfortable if you like cloud cushy. 4 inches is so nice, a lot more cush than just 3 inches we were use to. I got this one because it was ventilated. Many that say they are ventilated but look close, they are not the solid foam but the broken up pieced foam, which I don't think would perform long term, however, this one is solid plushness, not pieced, and it will breath with the tiny holes designed through it, and stay cooler. Totally happy, fit is exactly full bed size and fits properly on our full mattress. It was packed perfectly, compact, in air tight bag, in a box and in just a couple hours or sooner, it was full size, even though they say wait 48. We slept on it the night we got it, and omgosh...dreamy! If you like the idea of sleeping on a cloud that won't be hot like other foam mattresses...buy this one!

Decent comfort but delicate
I have mixed feelings about this topper. When I first opened the package, the smell was very strong; it reminded me of paint actually. However, after letting it expand and air out with the windows open for a day or so, it was fine. The smell is still there but only noticeable if you put your nose right up to it. So, if you are expecting to sleep on it the first day you get it, I wouldn't recommend this one. But if you have the time to air it out, don't let the smell stop you from getting this one. As far as comfort goes, it's decent. The first night I tried it out was on my medium density mattress, which I already love (I bought this for my dorm bed). It was way too squishy to put on top of a bed that is already pretty soft. I could barely roll over in it. However, now that I have slept on it for a few days on my dorm bed, I think it's pretty good. The mattress underneath is very firm, to the point where I'd have bruises if I slept with no topper at all. This mattress pad does the trick for me; it's not so squishy that I can't roll over, but it creates a comfortable sleeping environment. However, my major complaint is with the durability. I have a huge tear in it after moving it to my dorm room. Just folding it up, very gently as I know how delicate these are, caused it to rip in multiple places. It doesn't affect the comfort obviously, but this thing won't hold up for long. I hope that it will get me through the school year, but beyond that, I doubt it would last. I think the ventilation holes make it more susceptible to ripping. All in all, it is a decent topper. If you're a college student looking to make your mattress tolerable for an affordable price, I would say go for this one but be careful while transporting it if you want it to hold up. If you are looking for a great mattress pad for your existing mattress at home that you want to last for a couple of years, I'd say go for something of higher quality and price (although ideally I would hope $55 should get you something that should hold up a couple years but I digress.) Overall, I give it a "so so."
