I am using Robot Vacuum Cleaner for the last 3 years. It was from a different brand, say brand R. Due to some issues with it, decided to buy ECOVACS DEEBOT Y1 PRO. Using ECOVACS for couple of weeks now. Did/do not use mopping function. Overall, it is a good vacuum cleaner. Will list pros and cons for this here: Pros: 1) Battery/runtime/backup time is excellent. No doubt, it will run for more than 200 min and can easily cover more than 4000 sq ft area in one charge. Very nice. 2) Low noise in standard vacuum power which is another good point. 3) Cleans well as expected. Cons (I would say annoyances for me): 1) Singe side brush. Should have two for even better cleaning. Not sure why brands do not provide two side brushes now a days. 2) Dust and water tank combined. So, both are small in size and needs to be cleaned frequently. Should have another dust only tank which would have been larger in size. 3) Tank has a small and inconvenient opening. Not easy to clean. 4) No way to check if the tank is full or near to full without actually detaching it from the vacuum and opening it. 5) Tank opening functionality is flimsy and should be carefully handled. 6) The docking station has no light indicating it is turned ON and is functioning properly. 7) When the robot is charging, a light blinks, but once it is fully charged, there is no light indicating that it has been powered ON and is connected to Wi-Fi, though it has light for power/Wi-Fi etc which glows when it is cleaning. Firmware/app annoyances (which will probably go away over time): a) No way to save/load current map. You can create two maps for two floors, but then you cannot save it in a different name. Saving a map is particularly helpful when you want to create some no-go zone and save it. b) No go zone has a minimum size and you cannot create one smaller than that. So, if you need a really small no-go zone in the corner, you cannot create that. c) If you close the door of the room for a better cleaning behind the doors, sometimes it fails to get out of the room even if the door has been opened later. This does not happen always but happened couple of times with me. d) Sometimes hits obstacles, like door frame, hard as if it cannot detect them. These are all little annoyances, but robot is functioning fine and cleans my floor well - no issues with that.

Vacuuming: The suction is powerful enough to pick up everyday dust, crumbs, and even tracked-in dirt from outside with a low noise level. It handles pet hair well, too. Considering its performance, this robot offers excellent value for money and does the core job of vacuuming effectively without a premium price tag. Mopping & Navigation: The 2-in-1 feature is a great convenience. It doesn't replace a deep hand-mopping, but it's perfect for tackling light spills and keeping floors looking shiny between cleanings. The navigation is accurate; it moves methodically around furniture and transitions smoothly from hard floor to area rugs without getting stuck, ensuring consistent mopping and vacuuming coverage. Connectivity & Usability: The app is straightforward and reliable. I can start a clean or set a schedule from my phone with no connection drops. Overall, it's a decent product that works totally good. I would confidently recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable robot vacuum with a handy mopping feature.

It is the perfect bot for home cleaning and mopping. The vacuum is so good that you wouldn't need to mop as frequently as before. Finest of dust and hair are also completely gone. You can feel the floor clean after it's vacuum. My parents were very happy, initially i didn't know what to expect but my parents themselves said this was amazing and if a mom says it's good, i don't think we have to judge it any further. The mopping is different from the usual way, more like wiping with a wet cloth. But since the vacuum does the best job ahead of mop pad, the combination makes sure mopping is achieved. Also i have set it back to default mode in vacuum but trials of strong, turbo and silent modes were impressive too. But default mode is enough for a normal home. In mopping, you have high water and low water modes, i tried both and was surprised by the amount of water it consumes even in high mode so I kept it in high mode. Navigation is something that is very impressive, it detects the objects and maps very well, covers the corners and edges precisely. Keeps updating the same map if some objects mive or get added. Detection is just top notch. And when it cleans around the legs of furniture, it is as if someone is carefully making sure every point is covered. Battery usage is also very well optimized because it never went below 55% for nearly 1000 sqft area including mopping. Also since it cleans so well, we don't need it to clean everyday and have set it alternate days. App interface is also good and easy to use and understand. Support and service is also good, there are contact persons for directly talking and guiding on call in non metro cities. They even give in person or online demo as per availability. Also there are online demo videos which they share for us ti recheck in case we ever have doubts. And again the representatives contact is always available if needed. I didn't need the demo as i felt it was easy to setup and did it by myself, but they did share the support videos and material available. Overall this is a great buy for my home. A true bot, easy to use and intelligent.

Model : DEEBOT N8 I had bought Ecovacs DEEBOT N8 from amazon last week. So I'm writing this review after a week of usage and I am going a bit into detail as I know the pain of not finding a non-paid detailed review from a real user. Delivery : Super Fast Delivery by amazon to Kochi within a day. So I got it delivered under 30 Hours of placing the order. Packaging and In the Box Contents: Packaging was neat and well packed. There was no outer covering by Amazon. Once the brown carton by DEEBOT is opened there is another packing inside it with the name and picture of the product. Contents: 1. A thick User Manual in multiple languages 2. DEEBOT N8( Dust collection box(fitted with HEPA filter) is already fitted inside the DEEBOT 3. 2 Side brushes ( Green and Red) 4. Charging Dock and Cable 5. A mopping Plate fitted with re-usable mopping pad 6. A pack of 10 disposable mopping pads. Usage: The suction power is pretty good and so the vacuuming. It collects pretty good amount of dust every time. It even collects the minutest of the dust particles which are hardly visible to our eyes. And once it cleans the floor, I do feel the difference of a clean floor even just with Vacuum alone. It definitely cleans better than the usual cleaning done with a broom. The Mopping functionality also does a decent job which makes me a satisfied customer. When I say that mopping is good, let me set the expectations right for the readers. Mopping does not clean hard sticky dirt. Mopping is good when the floor does not have any sticky hard specks of dirt. The expectation from mopping should be something like you are wiping the floor with a wet microfibre kind of cloth without applying much pressure on it. So it cleans up any dirt which can be easily removed without applying any pressure. For me, I am very happy with the product when you make it to clean the house every day or once in two days at least. If we plan to clean the house once in a week, the mopping might not be as effective as the dirt gets hard to be cleaned as days pass by. So colloquially I can say that this machine would does the job better than a not-so-honest household help :D. Navigation and Mapping : The LDS Navigation works pretty well. It detects the big obstacles 98% of the time but at times it crashes and then understands that there is no way there and takes deviation. At times it does not detect the legs of chairs and then crashes at the legs. And I had faced a situation where the robo didn’t detect a small plate lying on the ground with some food on it, and it crashed the plate and spilled the food all over. I have never faced any situation where the Robo has got stuck and not able to get out. But do remember that loose cables lying on the ground is a problem. The Robo gets messed up with cables. So do ensure that there are no loose cables on the ground when the Robo is at work. The Mapping is really good and it maps the house correctly and it is really fast as well. The Robo need not travel to each corner to get it mapped. As soon as the Robo enters a room, almost 70- 80% would gets mapped. Once the mapping is completed you can save up to two maps. (say the first floor and ground floor). I feel that is a limitation. It would have been great if it had the storage for at least 5 maps. Experience with Customer Care: As far as I have interacted with Ecovacs customer care email, I do get responses within 48 hours and the experience is good. Pros and Cons: Pros: 1. Installation and initial set up is pretty easy. 2. Great suction power and it vacuums even the finest particles gets sucked in even with standard suction. 3. Max and Max+ suction options are also available, but it drains battery a little faster. 4. I tested the suction with a safety pin of medium size (~1 inch length) and it gets sucked in to the dust collector with standard suction. 5. Mopping is decent. If the expectation is not very high, you should be happy with it. 6. Mapping is great! And it allows us to select a particular room or particular custom area within a room to be cleaned. 7. The corner/Edge cleaning is also good. It hardly leaves a space as the size of a 10 Rupee coin in the corner uncleaned. 8. Drop sensor is great! I even tried it on a table and It worked really well. 9. Covers Vaccum + mopping of around 650 sqft in one hour. 10. Integration with Alexa works good. 11. Electronically controllable water flow is great! 12. Sound is minimal when compared to traditional vaccum cleaners. There is also a quiet mode. And Max+ mode creates some noise. Cons: 1. Mopping plate does not reach till the edges, so mopping is not that effective at the edges/corners of the wall. 2. Only 2 maps could be saved. You would need to remove one existing map to add a third map. 3. Area/Custom Selection is available only when maps are saved. 4. When mopping plate is attached - No option to Vacuum only 5. N8 has no other colour options other than white 6. No option to select any particular pattern for cleaning( like Y pattern/ Spiral ) 7. Gets Messed up if there are any loose cables lying on the ground Mats/cloth mats that are lightweight need to be moved out before the Robo is in operation, else it tries to suck it inside and gets messed up.

Update after 1 month use: All good as in original review except: The app especially the map integration is buggy!! It will be tough to manage if you are not fluent with technology in general. I have faced following issues so far recently: 1. Suddenly one day the robot showed offline. Tried to reboot did not work. Then reset the network and tried to connect to wifi again.. and hell broke loose. Same process that I followed for first time did not work. It would first make phone connect to its internal hotspot and then get the home wifi info from the phone and transfer itself to that wifi. The moment the last part of the setup happens the setup kept failing every time i tried for 2 hrs.. tried with 3 phones. Finally I had to factory reset to lose the map and even then it did not work, until I used an android phone. There somehow if i select location as US it worked and finally connected!! Had to re do the map. 2. One day it would just skip a room saying there is some blockage at the door!! That too even without even coming close to the room. Cancelling the run and starting again worked. 3. After the reset i had to do as mentioned above, it wont follow cleaning preference and order of cleaning. Again restoring map worked. 4. One day it just lost the whole map after I cleaned it and somehow it was unable to locate itself. Point is how come you lose a saved map after you cannot locate yourself. Why delete the saved map?? Some how after rebooting it worked and somehow the old map was back. So be prepared to face such software issues every now and then. Taking off 1 star because of this. Overall cleaning is still as before very good. ********+++ First review****** I was little skeptic before buying as my wife is very particular about floor cleaning.. She was out of town and this was a surprise for her.. 1. Great battery life (10/10).. go for T8 model its just a little bit costlier but greater battery life means lesser battery recharge cycles and longer overall battery life span. On highest suction speed it cleans 700+sq feet of area with exactly 50% battery left in under 1 hr. (640 + kitchen and some other areas twice). If I would have gotten other models it would have been around 10% battery once done..(per my calculations) Even though those models says 2000sqft in one charge that would be under normal suction. 2. Great Suction power(10/10): Even my wife agrees, it collects better than her broom did. 3. Good obstacle avoidance(8/10) : It does good job in avoiding obstacles. Only free lying wires get tangled in the side brush.. I am saying 8/10 as the company claims mm level objects can be detected.. thats is not really happening and I am not expecting as well. If its automating your manual chores atleast you can remove free lying wires for it. If you have a chair it will not simply avoid and go away, it will try its best to cover as much it can under and around it. 4. Navigation (9/10) : it does a great job creating a map in first run and unlike many reviews I really liked the application and fine tune navigation maps. You just need to be little bit tech savvy may be.. :) Giving it 9 as due to some reason after completing cleaning it always goes to one particular place which was completed long back and then says “cleaning complete” . I am sure if I reset the map and do it again it will not do that again. I have done lots of area customizations may be due to that its doing this. It just spends 2 mins extra so i dint care. 5. Mopping (7/10) : keep your expectations straight on this department.. it will never be same as you manually muscling through your floor. It is for maintenance not for cleaning a super dirty floor and bring it to shine.. If you mop manually daily and expect it to do it to that level then wont happen. What you can do with this is, you mop once 2 weeks and let it maintain daily. That way with better suction than broom it will keep your house nice and tidy.. While mopping I also noticed when it turns 180 degrees there is a 2inch semicircular area under its wheel that stays unmopped. If you have set it to clean twice then eventually it gets covered. Checking with customer support on this but doesn’t look like a defect rather by design.. I feel it can be sorted by software update 6. Auto empty station (9/10): if you just evaluate by the price .. 15k you get a very good vacuum, but if you think this in conjunction with the whole setup it makes better sense.. Without the auto empty station you need to make sure you manually clean the dustbin of the device every second day. It may last longer but more dust it accumulates poorer the suction will become. Auto empty station frees you from that burden and keeps suction of the actual device optimal for more than 1 month or even longer.. However the price of auto empty station should be cheaper.. Around 8k is fair in my opinion. You get good brand full vacuum cleaner for that price for god’s sake.. Anyways premium you pay for full automation.. 7. App experience (6/10): Everything is great giving 8 as being a S/W engineer by profession I have couple of wish list items that I wish the app supported. 8. Customer Support(8/10): I did not need much support to setup but they did offer help if needed. They normally respond within a day. Things I did not like: 1. Dishwashers/Washings machines all help us and they have some special needs.. they need separate detergents, salts, rinse aids etc.. I dont get why ecovacs cannot sell some specially formulated mopping solution that can be used for mopping. Regular lizol etc cannot be used as it may block the pipe/ water pump inside. Thats bit of a bummer. As a workaround I sometimes put few drops in the mop where the water comes out without affecting the device. 2. Pricing: I don't like sellers whose price is not consistent and reliable. One day you will see lightning deal 40k next day 30k with xyz deal, sometimes 50k .. Use an app like price history to check for price drops. 3. Accessories prices: Its on the higher side. Ecovacs please make these in India and give us cheaper.. If Apple can make Iphones you can make damn brushes and filters here too.. 4. Only white models available in India!! Why?? The black looks great especially the holographic LIDAR top!! Very bad..👎 Other points to note: 1. It wont clean extreme corners. 2. It wont clean extreme edges. 3. If you have door mats in-front of every room it will not go in if you are mopping. As if mopping plate is on it wont climb on carpets. 4. Clean the wheels and base of hairs every 2 weeks to keep things running smoothly. 5. There is a pro mopping plate you can buy for 9k that scrubs at 480times per minute . They don't list on amazon get it from their site if you want. Based on my research you can use reusable mops on that for better performance. 6. Reusable mops work better as they are thicker. But clean it after use when still wet. I use surf excel to give it a quick scrub that way it stays clean and dry free from mold. 7. Empty the water reservoir after use.. keeping it dry will sure make it last longer!! 8. For the same reason you cant use floor cleaners in it, you cant use tap water if its very hard!! Always use soft water , I am using RO water from filter. 9. Leverage the custom cleaning preference settings to customize suction speed, water flow etc for each room or areas within room. ( I have set 2 passes and high water levels in areas we spend more time and prone to get dirty like around dining table/ kitchen / wash basins) Overall: Go for it at good price. Check price history or you will pay more!! Great buy if you are not expecting results like manual mopping everyday!! Keeps our house very clean and tidy with daily use!! Overall I am satisfied 👍
