Fun for play
I got these for my daughter who has been begging for pointe shoes. However, full disclosure, she is not a ballerina, and not currently doing any dance class. She has simply wanted them for pretend play with her sisters, who like to create their own ballet class with instructor and dancers. After measuring my daughter's foot, the fit of the size I ordered seems to match. Although, my first impression of them is that they seem wide. One of my other daughters who wears one shoe size smaller tried them on, and her feet are more narrow. They did not fit well on her even with ribbons tied tightly. While the shoes are pretty, the material became worn after just one day of play in them. So while my kids are having fun with them, I don't know if I'd recommend them for the very serious dancer. For reference, my daughter wears a big kid size 2-3, and we ordered the big kid size 4 in these pointe shoes.

Shoe for a Really Strong Arch
I was skeptical about trying pointe shoes on-line, because they have a lot of variation, and they have to fit just right. I followed the size chart and did get the right length shoe, although the vamp is a little higher than I prefer, the width is for a very average-width foot. The toe pads included are great. The shank is the strongest I've ever tried - if you have a very strong arch that breaks shoes quickly, you may appreciate this - it's much sronger than I prefer. However, if your foot is not extremely strong, you won't be able to roll through these shoes from flat to demi to on pointe.Altogether, it's a decent shoe if you know what you need and these fit your feet. A beginning dancer should not try to order pointe shoes on-line - you can end up hurting your feet. Also, the last bullet point in the description saying these are good for gymnastics?! and make great gifts should be ignored - don't order point shoes as a surprise gift.

Fun for dress up
I am a ballet teacher and picked these up out of sheer curiosity, figuring that it would be a good lesson for my students on why you should be properly fitted for pointe shoes. While an experienced dancer could make these work for a very short time in a pinch, they are by no means appropriate for dance and could be very dangerous for young, inexperienced dancers. These are great for wearing for dressing up and playing, as long as you're not attempting to actually dance in them. The positives: they do run true to their sizing chart, all the pieces are as shown, the carry bag is nice, the ribbons are already sewn on, the elastic in the binding works appropriately, and they look pretty. The negatives: The profile of the shoe is very deep and wide, making them an especially risky choice for younger dancers who will likely have narrow/thin feet. The shank is much thinner than a standard pointe shoe, making it likely to break down very quickly, and offering virtually no support. The accompanying toe pads are too thin to really be of any use. The included elastic has the benefit of being sewn by the wearer, but it is very thin, and the nature of its webbing leads to a higher likelihood of stitches pulling loose during wear. The ribbons are more slippery than most pointe shoe ribbons, making it hard to tie them correctly or tightly enough to be effective. Finally, the satin used on these is extra glossy, especially on the platform, making them extremely slippery for dancing. They would need considerable work to be safe.In conclusion, if you are looking for a costume piece, these are great. If you are looking for actual, safe, reliable pointe shoes to use for dancing, these will not meet your needs. Please get fitted for an appropriate shoe, even if you then purchase elsewhere to save money. Don't damage your feet permanently to save money now.

well made shoes!
what I like about these shoes is that they are very well made. The ribbons come pre-sewn onto the shoes. And It comes with different accessories, like the shoe bag, toe pads and elastic bands. For my kid's foot shape it was not a very good fit, so be aware that this may not be a perfect fit for your child.

We are using as decoration!
My daughter dances but our studio doesn't offer pointe. Though my oldest dreams of dancing on pointe one day, we got her these just to hang in her room as decoration since it wouldn't be safe for her to wear and dance in them without the appropriate training. They are so pretty and a beautiful way to celebrate the art of ballet for my dancer.
