An excellent and interesting little learning toy for kids
This was a lot of fun to put together for my son (10). he enjoyed the whole process of building something, and making it work. I've recommended it a few times to other friends, and they've been similarly impressed. It's a sturdy little unit, works better on some surfaces than others and it kept him well entertained. I think if it was for much younger kids then there's not enough variety in what it does once built to keep them entertained, but I would recommend. This was for my 10 year old son, and he found it just right in challenge and in terms of build process.

Highly Recommend
Beautiful toy. Wonderfully engineered.However. the reason I wanted to write a recommendation was because I was extremely impressed with the quality and thoughtfulness of the instructions, which made it a joy to build with my 9 year old son. I was a little daunted when I saw all the pieces. but the building guide was superb. The drawings were very accurate and easy to follow.I should add we have only just built this so I cannot comment on how the toy will perform over time.

Nice little robot
This robot comes in tiny parts and I managed to follow the instructions well. To me personally it was very fiddly to build and my 9 year old would have never been able to build this so it’s definitely the parents job to make. Once it was made it worked fine. It walks around recognising and avoiding obstacles around it. Sadly the legs are not very sturdy and 2 of them popped out of its place after a couple of uses and you have to dismantle part of it again with screwdrivers to be able to fix it so I cannot give 5stars in it as it’s not very sturdy.I am not sure why Amazon asks me to rate face recognition as it doesn’t do that it only recognise obstacles to avoid walking into or hand to follow in the other setting.

It's ok
It's OK and didn't take too long to build got this for my son but it's way too noisy. So it doesn't get turned on

Lovely present idea.
Got for my son’s 7th birthday. We built it together instruction were very clear. Unfortunately he would not walk just move on the spot. I read through the review and thought I had a faulty product but the instructions has a trouble shoot page at the back and after opening him back up I could see the screws holding the cogs where in fact lose. It then worked perfectly and my son was so happy he got to built the toy with me. The parts do have sharp edges when popping them out but the instructions say to use pliers and we had no issues or injuries. For the money I think it’s amazing.

Avoid at all cost
Too hard to build and missing parts and instructions are very bad

Brilliant building project
The media could not be loaded. Bought for my 9yr old daughter. Was built with the help of her dad, I’m not sure if children would be able to build this by themselves with no help. Took around 2-3hrs and seems to all be working well! The video shows Tobbie in discovery mode where he just walks around exploring. Also has a mode where he will follow you if you put your hand in front of him and another mode where he will back away from your hand being in front of him. Daughter is so pleased with it. Is noisy but that doesn’t bother us and I can imagine it draining batteries quite quickly but haven’t used it for long enough to know how quickly! Those in the reviews where it is not working I think it’s going to be down to the build process. It’s a long process and requires a lot of accuracy and attention to detail to get it right.
