Empty ball no Wall of China
My boy enjoyed digging very much and found almost all wonders . So we knew the last ball should have A Great Wall of China . Sadly , there was nothing in it , product was missing . So much mess and dirt for nothing .

We bought these as an end of year gift for the students in our homeschool community. As we had studied ancient history, this gift had a clear connection and offered a fun activity. (Not all the landmarks are from ancient history though.) Kids from age 5-12 were all eager to hammer into their sphere to see what landmark they had. The golden coating also makes the spheres look impressive. We gifted the spheres individually. With 6 in a box, this was a good value for our group. The spheres are well made and don’t fall apart easy. My kids definitely had to add water to soften up the excavation material in order to hog out their treasures. Now we have a Mayan temple and the tower of Pisa being used in fish tanks, displays, and scenes. As others have said, there are a few errors in the printed materials, but the instructions and cards are colorful and interesting. With the connection to historical landmarks, the attractive gold coating, and the engaging activity, this was a great fit for our students!

My son (7) loves these kits where you get to dig out rewards (gemstones, fake fossils, pirate booty, etc.) and this one is one of the best he's had. He loved that there were two things in each globe and that they were real rocks and solid resin sculptures. He also liked matching the items he found with the cards and pages in the book that tell about the locations and items. He has decided to "pace" himself at only opening two globes per day so he can make it last. Pretty good self-control for a seven-year-old, I think! The only thing he wasn't wild about was the spray bottle. I think he wasn't patient enough to let the water soak in to make the globes easier to bust open. That didn't stop him though, he just busted them open without them being softened. My only issue with the set is that some of the facts on the cards are incorrect. I noticed two right away, which makes me question some of the other facts presented. One card says Europe is the only continent completely in the Northern Hemisphere, which isn't true. North America is also completely in the Northern Hemisphere. Also, the Asia card says the Maldives is the smallest country in the world. It's actually the 9th smallest. These countries are smaller (from smallest to largest): Vatican City, Monaco, Nauru, Tuvalu, San Marino, Liechtenstein, Marshall Islands, Saint Kitts and Nevis. Everything else I read I 'think' is true, but I'm not completely sure. There's also a mix of American and Eastern terms (sometimes miles are listed and sometimes kilometers, sometimes we see Mount Everest and others Mount Qomolangma, etc.). This isn't a huge deal but could be confusing to some. Overall though this is a great set. Perfect for sparking some curiosity to learn more and a wealth of information and fun souvenirs.
