Used it to seal seams on cast iron pot belly stove
I was very satisfied with the end result of using this cement to fill some air gaps between the pieces of mySears Roebuck Co. 119-57 and King 628 Box Stove.First I followed the instructions and prepped surfaces accordingly. After I applied the cement I didn't have any issues with the cement bubbling or cracking during or after the curing process. Furnace cement is messy just like paint and caulk so make sure you wear gloves, eye protection and have wet paper towels/ disposable cloths on hand. Another piece of advice I recommend is if you have an old Cast Iron Stove use this cement to seal from the inside, not on the outside because the excess cement left after wiping drys really fast and will ruin the stoves cosmetic look and you will end up having to wire-brush to remove it.One last bit of helpful information I can give is:Its not designed to hold Cast Iron cracks together. If you have reoccurring cracks or gaps just fill them up again. This cements main purpose is only to seal where air gaps are present.Have fun and Enjoy.

Hamon
This worked pretty well for me for doing hamons on knife blades. As long as you normalize prior to applying it.
