Douk AudioVU3 Dual Analog VU Meter, 2-Way Amplifier/Speaker Switch, Audio Switcher Box with DB Panel Display

Does a great job. I like the display and haven't noticed a change in sound quality. I would recommend to those people wanting to switch back and forth between 2 audio systems.

I had the previous Douk version. The new model has several improvements besides the larger VU meters. The previous version was sensitive to the high frequency oscillation from the class D amplifier. It was fixed on the new model.Good product. Recommended.

There is a minimal but noticeable brightness difference between the meters. In color cycle mode I see blue/purple I would like to use constantly however can not be selected manually. The frame is warped by .6 mm so it wobbles. I turned it upside down and it does the same thing so it's not one of the feet that is different. I have tested it on several flat surfaces to be shur it is the unit. I will be adding a washer under one rubber foot to fix that. All the switching functions are working well. All metal face plate and knobs are a big plus. I have 12 sets of vintage speakers and 9 vintage amps and receivers that will be switched in and out of systems. This switcher comes in handy for many comparisons to decide which ones to keep and which to sell.

I like it although I wish it had a on/off switch since it's always on if it's plugged.

I really wanted to like this, it’s really a nice looking, and well built piece of equipment. It also has the features I was looking for. My biggest complaint is the needles only move when the mic is turned on, even though it has speaker connections. The speakers passing through this does absolutely nothing as far as making the needles move. I bought this for my surround sound just for looks, but if you have a tv stand like I do, where the receiver is underneath the tv you have to turn it up really loud, so the mic will pick up noise. Since I watch tv with my surround sound on, the needles don’t move because the volume doesn’t register through the mic due towhere it’s placed on top of my receiver. If I play music it has to be turned up really loud and even then there is a delay with the needles which bothers me.If it worked like I thought it did, passing through and picking up the sound signal, I would have kept it. It just didn’t work for my setup.

I sold audio in the early 1980s. Really nice VU meters were on all of the high-end amplifiers. At that time, I could never afford those fancy amplifiers. As audio manufacturers, (and audio customers), no longer see the value in VU meters, VU meters have fallen away from customer desirably. Pity! I added the Douk Audio VU3 PRO Dual Analog VU Meter for purely nostalgic reasons. I really like these VU meters.

Small footprint unit, about 7 inches wide, 4 inches deep and a little less than 3 inches tall including the feet. See the photos for the measurements.Banana plugs are best for rear connections. The spade connectors are difficult to tighten due to limited rear panel space and the inability to tighten the rear connectors securely enough to prevent loose connections with spade connectors.Setup is straight forward, it’s just a matter of running the wires for 2 sets of speakers (or amps) and making the connections.The remote is required to adjust the lighting on the VU meters. There is no On/OFF switch on the actual box, only on the remote itself. If you want On/Off capability on the box, Douk recommends that the user add a manual switch to the power cord. You can also plug and unplug the unit for on/off if you lose or damage the remote.I have been running this switch for months and I use it to A/B between a pair of Magico S1 and Zu Audio Soul 6 speakers. I know, it’s an unusual audio setup but with this Douk switch, I can really dial in my speakers based on the audio source.I cannot audibly detect any added noise or distortion from the Douk switch despite online reports of added distortion found during bench testing.From my experience, this switch works very well. It would be perfect with power on/off and VU meter light controls on the box but I still really like this unit.I have located a spare remote from the Douk website for $15 including shipping and it arrived faster than I expected. You will have to Google the Douk website and email them asking about a spare remote. I can’t include the URL/email here, Amazon won't let that occur. I suggested that Douk make a spare remote available on Amazon and they are considering that request. I found the folks at Douk very responsive and friendly!Otherwise, this was a great acquisition for my system, it greatly expands my audio system speaker capability and it’s well made. La caja está bien protegida. Viene con un manual, su garantía escrita y un cable USB C para alimentación.El gabinete del equipo es de aluminio, bien construída. Se aprecia una calidad bastante buena.Los conectores traseros son firmes al momento de conectar.Los vúmetros se ven muy bien, tienen un movimiento bastante amortiguado y diría también que ambos son bastante precisos (medidos con una señal de 1Khz y ruido rosa), para ver y comparar el balance entre ambos canales. Además la luz de ambos tiene un ajuste de 4 intensidades o se pueden apagar. Y tienen un par de LED's rojos para marcar picos.El potenciómetro permite controlar el movimiento de ambos vúmetros.Los relés son un poco ruidosos, se podrían haber aislado un poco. Se escuchan bastante al momento de hacer comparaciones de amplificadores o parlantes.Lo que no me gustó para nada es el control remoto. Las funciones están bien pero tiene una calidad muy mala, desentona con el producto. Se desarma con solo apretarlo un poco. No pido que sea de metal, sino de un plástico medianamente firme y de buena calidad. Es un control genérico que le pegaron un papel con las funciones. Horiible. Deben mejorar esto.
