BLOOM is the fourth full length album by Beach House. BLOOM is meant to be experienced as an Album, a singular, unified vision of the world. The many layers of BLOOM are uncomplicated and meticulously constructed to ensure there is no waste. Review: Beware: The double album is 45 RPM, not 33.3 - Great album. But I was caught by the 45 RPM speed of this 12-inch "LP". In over 50 years of listening, I can honestly say I've never heard of a 12-inch LP played at 45 RPM. But hey, I can adapt, even if it means having to flip the disc twice as often. But in terms of packaging and quality, can't complain at all. Review: Amazing Album! - The Vibe of this CD transports you to a different Dimension! Its Chill, but kind of Upbeat, but Melancholic, But you just feel Happy. Definately One for the Collection!

...another solid effort from Beach House
I wouldn't expect anything less. While this album may not reach the same mainstream appeal as Teen Dream it is just as amazing. After the first listen I realized that I got lost in Victoria's haunting voice somewhere in the middle. I initially thought it wasn't as dynamic as their last but I have since changed my mind. It is a treat and also a task to listen from start to finish which is a credit to the production. I don't want to say that it gets better with every listen because it was brilliant from the start but it does have that signature Beach House hook. The sound quality of the vinyl is up there with some of my best sounding records. The 2 12-inch LP's are played at 45rpm which seems to add a noticeable depth to the music. I'm not an expert but I assume that the higher speed means the cartridge receives more information for a given time interval. It sounds so much better than the digital copy that is included. If you love Beach House then you probably don't need to be convinced but if you're looking for good music make the jump. Newcomers might warm up with Teen Dream then Bloom before Beach House and Devotion.

Phenomenal dreampop album. Sounds fantastic on vinyl.
Beach House does what they do best on Bloom, and it is clear to me now why so many love this LP. Everything from the instrumentation to the vocals on this thing is phenomenal. The packaging for this album is great, as the sleeves that hold the vinyl contain lyrics. I was shocked to find that this is a double LP, and that it plays at 45 RPM. The pressing itself came in great condition and is pressed on black vinyl. Every single track played through great with no pops, clicks, or noticeable static. Will be buying another Beach House album for my collection soon.

Great Packaging!
It's always a 50/50 bet ordering vinyl records online, but I can safely say the record was packaged extremley well and safe and my record arrived with zero damage! (This album is also AMAZING!)

slowed down
At first i was like.. his voice sounds so deep.. u literally have to put the speed on the same setting as a 45 because it’s so slowed down for it to sound good. Looks beautiful though and sounds fine sped up. idk why u have to change the setting for it to sound normal though

This album is great.
This is one of those records that is 100% gold, no skip-tracks. Just put it on and play the whole thing straight through.

Lush Masterpiece
Anything I say about this album will be unsatisfying to me because this music touches places that I cannot explain. We like to think we know who we are and what we are doing, and yet I suspect that beneath the surface we all harbor secret love, regret and hope. The music from Bloom speaks directly to things beneath our surfaces. But Bloom does not merely speak, it seduces and convinces us that our feelings are being expressed in the music. We remember, soar or weep when the music turns in a particular direction. If you have some empathy for this music, you will be taken on a journey to nostalgic places full of love. It is romantic and heart felt. My favorite tracks from this album are Myth, Lazuli, Wishes and On The Sea, but I am not sure. I think I can change my mind every time I listen to Bloom. I am listening to "Irene" as I write this and I am utterly transformed. So slow, so slowly this music moves me. And how often can I say that I am moved by any form of art? Hardly ever. Each song in Bloom is absolutely necessary to its completion. If I could give it six stars, I would.

Formed in 2004 the indie dream pop duo Beach House consists of Victoria Legrand & Alex Scally (they're from Baltimore, Maryland). 'Bloom' is their 4th album with debut 'Beach House' (2006), 'Devotion' (2008) & 'Teen Dream' (2010). After initial listens then, even if not completely exciting, all tracks are of a really high quality with no duds. Opening 'Myth' with emotion being generated via exciting instrumentation nuances & the gentle husky vocal from Victoria sets the tone. 'Wild' continues the magic as it majestically propels the listening mood onwards. Then 'Lazuli' with its fantastic intro carries us to epic proportions. Virtually impossible to choose the best amongst this triumvirate but I'd chose 'Lazuli' especially when it moves into "like no other you can't be replaced". 'Other People', 'The Hours', 'Troublemaker', 'New Year' (really beautiful), 'Wishes' (another gem which grows with each listen) continues this hypnotic effect. 9th track 'On The Sea' with its plodding beautiful piano chords is another sublime & brilliant piece equal to any of the opening trio. "Shadows bend & suddenly the world becomes and swallows me in" "whistle to a friend gentle to the end". The most emotional here. If that wasn't enough then every time I hear final track 'Irene' "it's a strange paradise" than am moved to play the guitar as it is just so inspirational with that guitar strum on repetition. After a long period of silence there is a hidden track. One small point is that to read the lyrics in the accompanying CD booklet I needed to find a magnifying glass ;-) OK there is a slight lack of energy & excitement & Victoria doesn't have the strongest voice but they know all about beauty & melody with the end result being a supreme beautiful dream pop fuelled melodic excursion. Blonde Redhead's 2010 album 'Penny Sparkle' set the high standard for beautiful dream pop but this in its own way is almost the equal of that. Perhaps best track is 'Lazuli' and have this also on a Record Store Day limited 7" lazuli coloured vinyl. Almost the album of 2012 (2nd) but that accolade by a smidgeon goes to Cameras 'In Your Room' (1st) with then Gemma Ray 'Island Fire' (3rd) & Dog Is Dead 'All Our Favourite Stories' (4th) also closely there.

A classic album from Beach House. Looking back over their career I realise this is one of their best albums. I purchased it on CD when it first came out and have listened to it countless times. This final record gives me a new way to enjoy one of my favourite albums. If you thinking of buying a beach house album on vinyl you can’t go wrong with this one.
