Simple, easy to use water detector - perfect for sump pits!
When we bought our house 6 years ago, even the inspector couldn't find the sump pit. Turns out, it was in the finished bedroom's closet under the carpet, oddly in the middle of the basement. It's filled up a few times over the years, thankfully when we're at home, so my shop vac and I were able to clear it before there was a problem. A plumber quoted $12k to install a pump because of the odd location, tear down of finished areas, and rebuilding. That wasn't happening. However, with us traveling more, I wanted peace of mind when there was an issue so I could have a neighbor take action.Thankfully we haven't had a real alert in the pit, but the testing worked beautifully. It can send texts up to 1 number, you can customize the message to a degree, it'll also send emails, and you can adjust the frequency of the alerts (1 min, 5 min, 10 min). It's basic, but it does exactly what it needs to do. It was also very simple to set up - you need an account, but there is no subscription fees like other devices, which is a huge win.

Good Sensor, added piece of mind
Sensor was easy to setup and configure. Tested multiple times and worked as expected for both email and text message. Can't speak to longevity as only had it a few months but so far so good. The sensor is directly one floor under my router so the signal is good in this location.

Alert can text one number, can email multiple addresses; Float can be inverted on device if needed
We have a sump pump in a crawl space that is not easily accessible. We need an alert to let us know if the sump fails some day and the water in the sump pit continues to rise above the level pumped out by the pump. The MySpool alert looks to be just what we needed. It took some time to set up. I'm glad MySpool had posted a video showing how the float can be inverted so the alert can be triggered as we need. It took some time to get it connected to our wifi as my phone did not respond exactly how instructions predicted. Once I found the setting in my phone software to continue the set up we were able to test the device with the spool in both configurations until we figured out what worked for us. We then tested the email and text alert capabilities. The device can be configured to send email to multiple different addresses but can only text to one number. My Android didn't consistently receive the texts but my wife's Apple phone does. So we used her phone number for the text and set up the emails to both of us. Now we need to remember to check it once or twice a year and otherwise hope to never get an alert. But we have some peace of mind we will know if the sump pump fails before our crawl space is totally flooded.

Seems like it's working fine
The physical installation of the sensor and battery unit in my sump pump was easy. Some of the directions can use some upgrading. Such as "install 3 batteries" and there is only one battery included in the shipping box in the plastic bag. One would think they forgot to send the other 2 batteries. Until you open the battery unit and see that they have installed the other 2 batteries already. Would be nice to know that before you go out and get 2 more batteries. Also, you need a micro screwdriver to open the battery unit. A regular, even small, screwdriver won't work. Finally, the directions to connect to your wi-fi and phone for emails and texts were somewhat challenging but I eventually got it to work. Connecting to the wi-fi was simple enough but the Android phone connection was a little more difficult. The Android phone message kept saying "cannot connect." However, I read a comment from another person on-line to "ignore the Android message and hit continue"...or a somewhat similar comment. And that worked! Seems like some Android phones have a glitch in connecting to the unit. So some instructions related to that possibility should be included with the directions.I tested it at least twice with a glass of water and it sent me an email and text message. I installed it before I left for an extended trip and hope that it is working, I also hope that I don't have a reason to prove it's working because my sump pump is overflowing and it sets off the My Spool alert to me. :).Anyway, that's why I titled this "seems" like it's working fine. Maybe "so far so good" would have been more appropriate. However, based on the test, I would recommend this product with some adjustments to the instructions as mentioned above.

Battery leak detection without a WiFi hub!
Only option I found that didn’t require a hub and provides SMS (to one phone only) and email notifications (upto 5 emails). Setup was easy and so far so good, only had it for a few days. I am using it for bilge area notification on a boat slipped at a marina which provides wifi service.

It works as intended
it works as intended. I received both text and email alerts. The process of adding the device was a bit tricky because there is a delay, I returned the first unit because I thought it never connected but after receiving the replacement it appeared in devices.I used it to measure the pool level (inverted) to know when it's low, it worked as intended, although for this application it generated several alerts because the pool pump generates ripples in the water causing the float to go up and down sending several alerts. I think it will work better for water that sits still

Easy.
Only had it for a couple of weeks, but easy setup and when I check it, the text and email notifications work just fine.

Good product to detect increasing sump pit water leves - works exactly as described.
What an economical and effective product! My set-up and test worked perfectly (text and e-mail alerts). The only two things that would improve this design are 1) the incorporation of a loud, audible alarm 2) 5G wireless transmitter as opposed to being reliant on household Wifi. During a major rain/thunderstorm, the biggest concern is the power being knocked out and the sump pump/pit potentially overflowing due to lack of household power - in this scenario, this product would not provide an alert because it requires Wifi to send alerts, and Wifi will not work without household power. Still nice to have this product for situations of pump failure or other scenarios to detect high water in your sump pit. Good but not a perfect product in my view.
