It's not pricey because what you get is quality. It's better than paying for a cheap $3 one and have it not work and spend more money buying something else again. I heard you need primer before spackling, and this one comes with both primer and spackle so it was a plus for me. It was easy to use as there as steps behind the package, especially for a first timer like me. I only tore of a small thin later of drywall so I really only needed a teaspoon sized worth of spackle - so I'll save the self-adhesive patch and remaining spackle for the next worst case scenario - but because I needed to little, I wish they gave a smaller putty knife. The putty knife was so big that the spackle kept dropping off and I couldn't get the spackle on the wall. It's not that big of a deal because I had a smaller putty knife myself, but if I didn't it would've been annoying to apply the spackle on the wall.

Worked well and was easy to use. Is using a roller a second coat of paint after a day or so would improve the look as first coat is absorbed by the repair material and you don’t get the roller texture. Not a big deal as it was barely noticeable but if you are a perfectionist try it.

Total newbie! I watched a couple videos before using this kit. Do that if you've never used a kit like this before - they helped a lot. The patch isn't huge, but it covered the hole in my ceiling perfectly and adhered well. The spackle was easy enough to use. I love that this kit contained everything I needed without any extra purchases. I would recommend using newspaper or a dropcloth under the hole, as both spackle and fine particulate (from sanding) will fall. I gave the spackle a full week to dry before sanding/smoothing. I haven't painted over the spackle, but you honestly have to look close now to see where the hole used to be.

I got my rental deposit back. I had a security alarm system installed and a large hole was left. I used this product and it worked like a charm. The technician patched the hole when he uninstalled the alarm panel but without mesh, the patch was fragile.I used this with the mesh and properly patched the hole. I would recommend getting your own sanding block because this one is weak af. If you want this product to properly work READ THE DIRECTIONS FIRST. Some of the bad reviews are from user error, not the product itself.I sanded the area down and then clear it to ensure the area was debris free. Before sticking the mesh down, make sure the area is clean and dry to ensure it will stick. Press the edges of the mesh down to allow the adhesive to stick well to the wall. Give it some time before applying the product. Mix the product well until smooth before applying.
