As an avid home chef, having the proper ingredients to make my recipes is a must. I recently have been recreating the takeout dishes that I love so that I can make them at home. My foray into making my beloved General Tso chicken prompted needing these peppers. I looked everywhere locally, but being in a rural area, options are limited. I came to Amazon to find these. I made my sauce with these and the taste is perfect, if not better than my normal takeout order. The excess I have vacuum-sealed in my pantry in smaller portions for use as needed. I am impressed with the quality and the taste that these produced in my copycat General Tso sauce. The recipe is staying in my rotation. (Now, I just need to find a way to make the sauce in bulk and preserve it. LOL)

I've eaten whole fresh habañero peppers before, and I can say without a doubt, these chili peppers are noticeably hotter. In my subjective opinion, eaten as-is, (not recommended, lol) these are easily pushing 400,000 Scoville Units. I popped one in my mouth and started chewing. Wow. I've also eaten fresh Ghost Chili, and these Thai peppers are not quite as hot as that. But I did lose the ability to speak for a full 5 minutes after eating one. (Which again, I do NOT recommend, unless you enjoy pain.)The flavor was delicious, aside from the avalanche of heat. There was a delicate sweetness, a floral aroma, with citrus notes. Highly recommended but USE SPARINGLY until you determine how hot you want your food.

I have bought similar products like this at Walmart or my local grocery store, but these here, are HOT🔥🔥🔥! Not just hot, but very flavorful! They're not hard and crunchy like most. They are a true compliment to any spicy dish you may be cooking! A definite winner here!

The.chilies appeared to be freshly dried unlike some others that are britle (overly dried).

Very nice looking. Looks fresh with very few being undesired (this will happen with all dried peppers). That's an adequate amount for a 1lb bag. Only labeling is from California. Does not appear to be sent from China, as some others have received. Great expiration date - 19 months after order/received. Taste is good. I'm still looking for something slightly hotter, as I eat a lot of hot stuff, but these makes my homemade General Tso's Chicken quite flavorful with a nice kick.Update: For some, these might be hotter than the usual General Tso's chilis. For those, I found a milder chili at Walmart (for just a few bucks - 12oz bag). I found the spicier one I was looking for in a Bird's Eye Thai Chili (found here on Amazon). They're really small but they kick harder than these. Won't need many of those in any dishes unless you really like it hot.

Peppers were fresh and have the nice heat if you like hot.
