Lowered my blood pressure quickly without any meds
I bought this hand grip meter because I had read recent research articles about the relationship between handgrip strength and blood pressure. There are newer studies that show that doing exercises to improve handgrip strength will lower BP, and the evidence seemed sufficiently compelling to try it. My BP was not consistently high; my systolic pressure was always normal, but my diastolic pressure had a tendency to spike. My main goal was that I would never take BP meds. I got the meter and began following study protocols immediately. While watching TV, I grip the meter at 1/3 of my measured grip strength. I do 4 cycles of 2 min on each hand, with a 1-minute rest in the middle. I do this 3 nights per week. After the very first day, my BP was normal and has remained so. On my last trip to my doctor, where my BP has always spiked in the past, my reading was 124/78. I discussed it with my doctor, who seemed quite happy about the whole endeavor. It is, he said, essentially a form of exercise for your blood vessels. With all this said, and having no regrets at all about my purchase, I confess that the instructions for the meter are somewhat of a mystery to me. I figured out how to measure my strength easily, but I haven’t figured out how to keep it on while I am doing my exercises. (Perhaps I haven’t tried hard enough….I’m not sure.) but I turn it on and measure my grip strength sometimes before I begin. More often than not, I simply use it without using the meter at all. You may be thinking that there are other devices that are less expensive that would serve my purpose, and that may be true. But I think it is helpful to know how strong your grip is to get started, and you would certainly need this help if your grip gets stronger and you need to increase the strength of your grip during the BP exercises so that you will maintain progress. So all in all I am very, very pleased with this device. It’s an easy way for me to avoid any medications.

Great Grip Strength product
I got this to test my grip strength, because that is supposedly a potential indicator of overall health. It works great for that test, but with the timer and digitial interface, it is a excellent daily use trainer for increasing grip strenght. I use it a little bit different than the training instructions, but in just three weeks, I have gained grip strenght.

Works but size is not best for bigger hands
I’m getting back into exercise and found my grip is lacking, especially for deadlifts. I like the fact that I can measure strength with numbers using this. I have noticed it does fluctuate a lot over time but do see a steady upward movement. I test at end of my workouts so could be exhausted by time I use this.My one problem is how narrow it is (from palm end to where you put your fingers). I have to place it against my upper palm to the bend in fingers, so do not get full power. I wish it was adjustable. Fits my kids much better.I click “On/Set” then “Start”, then squeeze for a few seconds and it records on screen the largest number. I write down the number each time.

It will hurt your feelings
Excellent machine, worked perfectly. If your using it to see "how strong" you are ; your not as strong as you think you are so don't buy it for that becauseyour feelings will definitely get hurt. I thought I had a good grip but only hit 107 at my best. Doesn't give off that cheap plastic feel and feels very solid and sturdy.Buy this if your a body builder/building grips strength to keep track of your progress or to see who among your friends is stronger. This is definitely one of those neat toys that you use every 4 months and go "Oh cool" and then you put it up again after 4 seconds.

Pretty nice for the price.
Got a few over the last few months and they felt..off. I'm 200lbs and can do a few pull ups so I have to have some level of grip strength and alot of them were showing 50lbs, maybe 70lbs of grip. This one first try got 140lbs which felt alot more appropriate than the 60's ish the others were saying lol and this isn't a kg/lbs issue. The backlit screen is nice and bright. The handle is wayy more adjustable than the others as well. Over all it's nice. Now to see how long it will last

Good grip tester!
Pretty straight forward to use and test your strength! A lot of fun to be had and you can use it to exercise your hand as well as test your strength. Seems durable enough as long as its not dropped.

Not for large hands
Lots of testosterone in these reviews. Here's some more.Fact. It works. I'm just not sure it can accurately measure someone with large hands due to the narrow width of the bar. I tried. The best I could do was wrap 3 fingers around it comfortably and that's it. I'm sure I could get better results if I could grip it with my full hand. Yes I'm being serious and yes I have big hands, but I don't have hands the size of a catcher's mitt.I suppose it's okay as a device to measure progress, but if you have big hands and would like to know your true grip strength this won't get it done.
