Works perfectly with my headphones. But it did seem to override the microphone in the phone. But perhaps theres a setting to change that somewhere?However this device allowed me to record via two wired microphones. Using the ride combiner (shown) I've used this set up in the past for recording podcasts with guests and recording sounds in the wind (one microphone has a wind buffer)However, the device does introduce a background hum into the recorded sound. I've included photos of the sound recorder with the cable plugged in and then without stopping the recording, what it looks like recording after I pull it out.Honestly though the sound is sooo good when recorded directly by the phone, I may not bother with my external mic anymore unless I'm in really windy environment, where the slight hum will be nothing compared to the general background/wind noise!!

Feels good and solid and of a high quality.However did not work with Samsung S20 Ultra so had to return the item.

I was torn between buying one of these or a bluetooth receiver for the stereo in my van. I decided that I'd buy one of these so that I could use it with wired headhones and in other situations.I can't comment on the durability, because I've only used it for one journey, but it's really clear and works well.The only thing I would say to be aware of, is that unlike with an aux cable, where, when I stop the engine, the phone pauses the track it's on, with this connector, it continues to play, but obviously you can't hear it. So if you're listening to an audiobook or podcast etc, where it matters that you don't miss an hour's worth of story, then be mindful of switching it off. I learned the hard way! But that could just be my stereo- I haven't tried it on anything else.

Brought this product as my other headphone converters had broken and I needed to hold the cable in a certain way to be able to hear anything. Well, on my way to work these worked just fine (my journey to work is half an hour tube) but on the way back they were already broken in that I had to hold them a certain way in order to be able to hear anything - the reason I brought these was not to do that! Absolutely not worth buying to break at first use and not worth any money!

Update (06 December 2021):Decreased from 5 stars to 3The jack has stopped working after the last couple of weeks slowly fizzling out. It started to only send sound to the right headphone ear (I tried multiple headphones to check if it was a problem with the headphones, or with the jack - it was the jack). Just over a year of weekly use is pretty good wear, I guess, but I had hoped that this jack wouldn't just give out like this. I took good care of it and didn't bend it or subject it to any particularly wearing situations. I guess I will either buy another one of the same (now with the expectation that it will stop working in a year) or look for a better quality jack. A shame, as I did like the quality and price of this item!Originally bought September 2020: 5 stars, works great for my sony phoneThe headphone jack on my Sony Xperia Compact XZ1 unfortunately stopped working, and putting it in for repair was going to cost me way too much. This headphone converter jack fits into the charging plug on my phone, and now I can connect my headphones into my phone to listen to music. Works great, great price, no complaints. Thanks!

Plugged this into my new ipad pro 12.9 for a gig using backing tracks..It got so hot it burned my finger to touch after just 7 minutes and starting to sound breakdown because of it. Good job I had another branded one..Now hope it has not damaged my USB C Port...This is obviously wired in a no suitable and dangerous way....angry...
