This was an easy install and has been working great, 1 month of use and no issues so far.

Yes, some minor modification is required, but the added capacity/controller life makes it completely worth it. I'm now getting 3+ hours with the controller LED set to dim.Get a cheap flush cutter and you can accomplish trimming the battery plate easily. Make sure that there are no jagged edges. Puncturing a lithium ion battery is a recipe for a fire.Console and controller modification is something I do as a hobby, so to me, this was a piece of cake. I can understand the consternation of cutting into OEM plastic for the first time. It feels alien. After having done it for years, I was happy to have an untethered controller that I didn't have to worry about.The product itself is as advertised. I don't think it's fair to rate the product low because you were told up front that some modification was required. If you don't want to modify, buy a lower capacity battery that fits without trimming. If you are a tech and enjoy tinkering, this is for you.

Original battery(lip1522) is approx 1/4” shorter than this battery. I ended up just snapping off the battery tray retaining arm on the plug side. Popped it back together with the same snug fit it had before. I rate this fix a 3 out of 10 difficulty. If you loose track of the board connecting ribbon orientation it’s connectors facing inward. A completely water flooded remote works again.

Not plug and okay. The connector isn't event the same. The battery I received had a con ector that was much larger than what's on the board for the PS4 controller.How hard is it to include a connector that's ready to go out the gate? You're going to make people modify stuff and possibly cause greater risk to what should be an easy replacement?! Unheard of.Lucky for me, I have a soldering iron and electrical background. I had to snip and) the old connector and replace the one on my new battery.

Update: One of the batteries now goes dead after one day of light use from a full charge. < 15 months. The original batteries lasted far longer.For those complaining about poor fitment, I would wager that they ordered the incorrect battery. These were a direct replacement for the wife's PS4 stock controller and the aftermarket controller for this specific unit and year of manufacture. They may have thought that they had an older or newer unit, so ordered the incorrect battery.I ordered these when the original batteries were still good, but started to need more frequent charging. I'd say that these last at least 1/3 longer than the replaced batteries. I don't know about the actual mAh, as I am aware that battery manufacturers can play fast and loose with such claims.Decent apparent value and easy to install the battery itself. The hardest part was taking the controller apart for the first time. 5 stars until proven otherwise.

When my old battery would no longer take a charge, I started shopping for a replacement. I came across this unit and the reviews sounded good.Having installed in my controller and used it for about a week now, I can say it is a good replacement battery. I'm getting way more life out of this battery compared to the factory unit.Side note: my controller will not charge a battery. I've tried swapping out the micro usb port and ribbon cable to no avail, so my assumption is there is something else wrong. To remedy this, I bought an external USB-powered LiPo battery charger. Just throwing that out there for anyone else who has the same issue.

I had never opened up a gaming controller before but my PS4 controller battery wasn't holding a charge anymore. So I bit the bullet and bought this replacement and did surgery on my controller. Battery works great, came carefully packaged, connections are good. All that jazz. I've been using it for a couple weeks now with no issue.
