Hard to use, everything costs $$$$
The product showed up in the wrong color (I ordered black, and got the ugly orange), with a half-dead lithium battery (which means it was used since those things don't self-deplete for years), but the main issue is that (1) the wind measurement does not seem accurate, and (2) there's only a single generic .308 caliber profile loaded onto the device. You'd think it'd be as simple as downloading the free Android/iPhone app, doing a firmware update, and then getting the latest and greatest of profiles loaded onto the device, right? WRONG!!!!! You have to spend $$$$ buying all the various pieces separately, and wrestle with each to make sure they play nice with your Windows machine (yep, that's right; Mac users are SOL).The phone apps are pretty much useless (just make it a bit easier to manually input stuff into the phone, if your time is that worthless that you're going to sit there and enter all that info through the phone; maybe a good use of time sitting through all the safety, etc. jabber at sniper school, lol!).It's incredibly frustrating that after spending $800+ to get the "fully loaded" product with certain attachments, I still have to pay another $60 and wait for the proprietary USB connection cable so that I can load ammo and gun profiles onto the device, without which, this product is pretty useless (unless you're willing to spend hours, painstakingly inputting EVERY SINGLE PARAMETER for EVERY SINGLE ammo type for EVERY SINGLE weapon you plan on shooting).Yep!! You need the $60 USB cable + a Windows machine (nothing for Mac), and hope that after downloading their Windows software, it's going to install without issues and recognize their USB cable. You'd think the $30 Bluetooth dongle with LiNK could replace the USB cable? WRONG AGAIN!!! You can ONLY load the profiles using the USB cable + Windows app + USB 2.0/3.0, which means if you've got a modern laptop with USB-C ports, now you need to buy a converter. (And the BT dongle is also in USB2/3 form factor.)Everything else about the UX (user experience) on this product was intended for the old school (and I mean OLD) people who are used to the clunky, user-unfriendly, unintuitive menus of the 90s (think of navigating through your crappy all-in-one office printer/scanner of 20 years ago).Maybe if I got this product for free through sniper school, all pre-loaded and pre-configured with the array of rifles and ammo, then I would feel differently about this otherwise overpriced/overhyped gadget. Until then, doing it the true-and-tested way...
