Works Great
Great unit. I prefer NetGear over others. Have never had any issues with their products. Would purchase again.

Working good so far (3.5 months)
I don't like to post reviews for a product until I've had a good chance to use it for a while. So, now a review.I like this router, it has decent range (I have to place my router in a less-than-optimal place). Day to day usage is good, I have only had one instance where I thought a reboot was necessary. Internal network and internet speed is good and consistent. It supports DDNS via its own internal client (though I have to renew my DNS entry every 30 days-not Netgear's issue).I like to have a few devices "hard-coded" to specific IP addresses, and the router supports this, although finding the section in the UI to actually do this is not as clear as I think it could be.The router also supports "port-range" forwarding and triggering. My previous router could ONLY specify single ports for forwarding, which was very restrictive for some applications. There is a "guest mode" supported, also. What I really like about the router is the lack of disruption when changing most parameters. Some routers require a reboot for parameter changes to take effect. I do not recall this ever happening while changing settings on this router. The router supports VPN, gaming applications, NTP servers, and internet access restrictions. Internet sites can be blocked by keyword, time, and service type.Of course, the more common router features are fully supported as well.I don't like buying a "pig-in-a-poke". Many router vendors do not provide their router manuals on their websites, which is a red flag to me. If I can't review the manual to determine suitability of a given product to my needs, then I prefer not to take a chance with my money. Netgear does an outstanding job of providing easy access to their manuals. If you want to ensure a router is suitable for you, check the manual first.

I received a used product.
I received a used product. There was no paperwork whatsoever in the box. It had a custom password and security already set up, so I could not log into it. It was already registered with Netgear, who would not support it as it was already registered. I send proof of purchase to Netgear, and have to wait a week or so to find out if they will support it and offer the warrantee. So, it may get returned. Time will tell. When you order things as new, it's not always so. Do I get a discount? No. Buyer beware.8-1-24 Update: Per Linksys, the product was registered to another owner, so support was declined until they get proof of purchase and a photo of the MAC addy. It is not registered to me, but there is no warrantee.

The perfect router on a budget
My older TP link archer was starting to slow down and I was getting a fraction of the speed I paid for. Couldn’t even stream without buffering every few seconds and resets weren’t helping. Saw this one at a great price and with excellent reviews so I had to get it. The netgear app is also a great feature for seeing the router status without doing it on the computer. Thanks for this I have consistent internet speeds, zero buffering, and I actually get faster speeds than what I technically pay for. I’ve already recommended this router to multiple people needing to upgrade but not wanting to break the bank.

Netgear will not honor subscription
The product seems to work properly. It has only been installed for about a week. The problem is that Netgear will not honor the 1 year Armor subscription that was supposed to be included. When I installed the router, the activation date and expiration dates were the same. I have been an Armor subscriber for years. I expected to have the additional year added to my account. Called Netgear support and was first told to send back to Amazon as defective. Stated product worked fine it was just an issue with the Armor subscription. Support person asked for proof of purchase so they could escalate the case. As I had contacted support thru the Amazon app, it cut my chat off when I looked up the order. I uploaded the proof of purchase to my case. A couple days later I received notice the case had been updated. Tried to view case to see what the update was. Unable to access assuming due to issues on Netgear site. Tried using computer to access and same thing happened. A few hours later received email stating case had been closed. Netgear changed the purchase date to the previous year so now it shows I cannot get support. Seems like a very poor way to treat long time customers. Very disappointed with the service I received. Buyer beware!

9.8 out of 10
It's good that I bought an expensive one and it doesn't break down.

Easier to connect then I thought it would be
I purchased this router to go with the new modem I purchased, because I was tired of paying a monthly rental fee for the cable modem/router combo that my cable company supplied. I don't really like having a modem/router combo, only because if one or the other stop working or have glitches, it usually will all stop working. I purchased an Surfboard modem and then purchased this router to pair with it. It was very easy to connect it...just had to connect the power cord to the router and connect the ethernet line it from the modem. The only problem I had was the Surfboard app, You connect it all up through the app...it wanted me to scan the QR code, but I couldn't find one. I finally saw it....it was on the clear wrapping that was on the router...I had thrown it away. I hadn't noticed that the QR code and the temporary router username and password were on a little label stuck to the clear wrap. After I realized that I threw it away and retrieved it from the trash, I was up and running in about a minute. This router works great with my Surfboard modem.
