A little slow to dry, but works great for my needs
I bought these pens for touching up art done in pen and ink. After some tests, it seems to work well for this purpose. The white is clean and opaque enough that it can easily cover the black ink pretty well. They take a bit longer than I'd like to dry (very minor thing). Once dry, the white also takes ink on top without issue and doesn't seem to affect the texture of the paper in any way.As for how it feels using it, it's pretty much just like a pretty standard ball point pen, so no big surprises there.I can't speak for the durability or longevity of these pens yet, as they are still new, but the indications I have so far seem good. They look and feel like they are good quality. All in all I feel these pens are everything I need them to be and the price is very good for the quality of pens you get.

Very nice colors, disappointing packaging/labeling
I very well might come back and update this review in the future, but as things are now...I received the set today and set it upside down (tips down) for an hour or so. I tried each pen because of prior comments about some pens not working. All of mine worked absolutely fine, though some took a bit of scribbling to get the ink flowing. No complaints about that since it can happen with any pen.The ink flows very smoothly and the colors are brilliant and vivid. I found myself in testing each pen wanting to find a page to put them to use, but I resisted and finished testing each one. The tips are somewhat wide if you want to do very fine detailed work, but they're fine for most applications. People who color mandalas/paisley with extremely fine lines are probably better off looking for a finer point or using a different medium for the very fine lines. (I use a mix of colored pencils, watercolors, gel pens and eye shadows.)So, all that being said, the star I removed is related only to the packaging and labeling. The very flimsy cylindrical container is okay for something to set on a desk, but it's not easy to store or to take along in travel. I would have very much preferred a plastic or otherwise case that was foldable and had sections labeled neon/glitter/etc.That brings me to the labeling issue. The pens themselves are not labeled in any way. Yes, you can tell from a pink cap that the ink is pink, but you have to examine the pen to see if it's a neon/metallic/pastel/etc. It would be very helpful if the pens were labeled on the caps, e.g., pink neon, blue metallic, etc.Overall, I'm very pleased so far and might get a different thing to store the pens in to make it easier to keep track of the colors and finishes.

Brand new pens, NO ink flow
After researching recommended white gel pens these came highly recommended with great reviews. i was excited to get these pens due to the tip size. 3 pens arrived and NOT ONE will work. Be it dried, clogged , or air bubbles. I have tried all suggestions to get gel pens to flow again to no avail. I have not returned these pens due to the inexpensive cost. I would NOT recommend these pens to anyone! I have one word...JUNK.

Right tool for the right job
I purchased this item for use with adult color by number. I was attracted by the claim of "40 unique colors." Turns out that "red", "metallic red" and "glitter red" are considered unique colors. What I needed was different shades of red. 26 out of the 40 colors were metallic, glitter and neon. That leaves only 14 natural colors which might be usable in an adult coloring book. But how good are they? Well, they flow smoothly and cover well. Even the Glitter doesn't clog. How did they arrive? One pen would/does not work at all. Filling was inconsistent - two were only half filled and the rest were anywhere between full and half. One looked like it had been used extensively.Bottom line is that these are cheap pens with flashy colors which may be appropriate for your teenage daughter's My Little Aardvark (R) coloring book, but not for nature and wildlife scenes.UPDATE - I have used them for a few years now and must emphasize that the quality is very inconsistent.Sometimes the ink is thick, sometimes thin. If the pen set came with refills, the refills may not match the original in color or consistency.Bottom line - these pens are cheap. They are fun to use, but consume quickly. So don't use them on a project where a subtle change-up in color would be noticed. For more serious projects I would recommend gel pens by Bic, Papermate, or Pentel. They have large cartridges and consistent quality.

White ink
I love these white ink pens! So far, they are performing very well. They write smoothly, without skips or "clear" areas, and are very bright white and opaque. The roller ball is smooth and does not feel gritty or rough, and the ink flows from the tip evenly and effortlessly. Some white inks tend to either be too think or too think, causing skips and/or puddles on the paper, these do not do that at all. The line they produce is even, smooth and free of clumps or blobs. The ink is also a great blend of pigment and base gel, so there are no times where the gel is all that hits the paper. The ink sits on the paper nicely and provides full coverage.Another thing worth noting - I thought these were water based, but I can say that they may not be. I bought them to use primarily on watercolor paintings for highlights. I used them to address a colored envelope, and some liquid spilled on it. when I wiped away the liquid, I did not have to go over the ink again because it did not wipe away.
