Great for their price, happy purchase. Clean and definitive highs/mids, bass lows a bit weak.
Needed to replace my desktop computer's audio speakers - games, all kinds of music including bassy edm, do some editing etc. Had an ok Logitech 2.1 system, 2 speakers + a floor subwoofer unit which served me pretty well. Unfortunately the wires for that system were hardwired into the small speakers, which go to the floor sub unit, and these started having fading in/out problems. The mid/high ranges from the small Logi speakers were also not great as I have now come to realise. After a bit of research and back and forth decision making between the more/sometimes better reviewed Edifier R1280DBs's and MR4's, some of the other (at the time of writing) £99 models, it sounded like something was a bit missing from those units for people, and I figured these R1700BT might tick most boxes. These are chunkier than I thought even, but they still fit on my desk just about. I ideally wanted to not have to deal with a subwoofer unit on the floor, so I ordered these and hoped the bass in these would be enough for my use case. The trade-off in use of space I guess is no floor unit, bigger speakers themselves.I opened them up, hooked them to power and connected the two speakers together. Just power, and one more cable. Turned on, bluetooth is super snappy indeed, and got on to trying a bunch of tunes. At first I was a tiny bit disheartened, as some of the songs just didn't feel quite right. But I forgot I'm a bass-inclined individual, so played with the nice treble/bass controls, added +4db, and kicked the volume up.I'm quite happy. My ears retuned a bit and the music started showing some new colours, definition. The bass is also enough, for my needs. I was torn between spending a bit extra for the R1700BTS (S for Subwoofer Out version), so I had the futureproofing of being able to buy a sub to addon if I wanted to. Then I remembered I wanted to do away with the sub unit in the first place, and figured if these don't kick enough bass for my needs it's simply not the speakers for me. I think it would be unreasonable to expect anything more for the £115 I paid and in the form factor they come in. The build quality is great, controls are easy, Bluetooth snappy. No care for the remote control myself so can't comment. Audio is clean, sharp, great. Volume can't go house-party high, but fills my room and spills out a good amount. If I had these in my living room/some open plan social area, would maybe be enough. The only thing missing is the bass lows could be punchier. I do wish I got the BTS model in the end, but I'm sort of fighting my rationale for getting these in the first place then - would just be nice to have the option I think, so if you're crazy bassy I'd go for those, get a sub unit, and be plenty happy.

Very boomy bass
I bought these speakers for my computer. They sounded awful on the first listen - the Base was way way way too boomy, completely drowning out the higher frequencies. Even with the Bass dial on the speakers turned down to the lowest setting they were still way too boomy. I had to download a sound frequency bass/treble equalizer so I could manually reduce the Base frequencies even lower. Took hours of fiddling around with the equalizer to find the optimal ranges but eventually got there. They sound very good now. Good build quality and very reasonably priced. The volume is more than enough to fill a large room or an apartment. I wouldnt recommend them for a TV because of the boomy Base, but if they are for a computer and you are prepared to fiddle around with an equalizer they are definitely a good purchase.

Sound Sense
I really am a happy bunny. Buying speakers without hearing them could be a bit of a lottery. If that is the case I think I hit the jackpot. These cute little babies pack a punch. The sound, even at lower levels is rich and mellow. Turn them up, and they are just great. They have Bluetooth connectivity, something I must have missed in reading the listing but I'm not bothered as they are being used in a wired setup up to my studio mixer. So straight out of the box. Connected up with no problems. Some quick engineering sound tests. (I am a bit of a nerd), and they were ready to fill my room with wonderful sound. Give your lungs a treat.

Great speakers for music, computer or television
I hate most soundbars and 2.1 systems, which are not really designed for music. These speakers have great all-around sound. I'm not sure they qualify as studio monitors, as the sound is a little coloured towards the bass, even attenuating the bass -4. These speakers are good enough that I could hear a difference between a 320 kbps AAC stream and a Tidal hi-fi 1411 kbps stream from an Android phone over bluetooth.I think the strong bass is probably best for television and gaming, although most gamers would probably like a subwoofer. I'm not sure I would rely on these as Studio Monitors, but they sound great for general audio use. Like most near-field monitors, they will sound best at ear level and spread for music. For TV, I like them closer together. That focuses the sound with the picture better, but still giving decent stereo imaging.I couldn't find a pairing button on the unit (press the volume knob), but is it on the remote. It paired easily. It has 2 RCA pairs of inputs on the back, so you can have 2 wired sources. At 66W RMS, you get plenty of volume to fill a good-sized sitting room. A great set of all-around speakers at a great price.

Great bass/so easy to set up!
Only just got delivery of these petite speakers...small but they pack a punch!🥊 The bass is very powerful and treble quite discernible...they mix quite well to produce awesome sound! The control dials are mostly metal, good quality but the volume dial is a bit flimsy and simply rotates w/out a "stop". The build is quite robust and Bluetooth came in fairly quickly. The appearance is classy, and i love that they're angled...it makes the sound more penetrating.Overall, happy so far...oh,the putzy remote is a bit ridiculous but 🤩 fun!!

Worth it
Changed my old logitech speakers for these after hearing such good things. I'd say these are worth every penny. Great sound i have mine connected via bluetooth and and have no issues. Paring is nice and simple, adjustable Base and treble beautiful sound, clear voices and nice deep basey tunes. The remote is a little small which make it hard of you've got large hands but there are controls on the left speaker that let you do everything the remote can.
