A nice cheaper alternative than the OEM Johnson starter. Works well, however I did have to add some Loctite to the nut holding the Bendix gear in place, it kept coming loose. Other than that no complaints works great fraction of the cost of an oem

Order came extremely fast and installed it the next day on my 76 Evinrude 25 hp this starter is an upgrade from the stock starter very strong I am very satisfied with this

I took the boat out for the first trip with the new starter. It worked ok at first and mounted up like the original. After a few starts, the starter began to make a grinding noise while engaging. I removed the cowling to watch it and see what was happening. When I went to start again, the bendix return spring and cap shot off and landed in the water and the starter was not turning the bendix gear. Not worth the money. I just ordered the oem replacement for a lot more, especially considering having wasted money on this cheap after market paper weight. Luckily I had my trolling motor to get me back in with.

Perfect fit for my 2004, 25 hp Johnson. It’s a very tight fit to get the old one out and the new one installed. The new starter ran at the slightest touch of the key. So far it’s well worth the money.
